SCOUTING THE MARINERS: Merchant Marine enters today's game with a 3-3 record, including a 1-2 mark in the Liberty League. The Mariners have lost three of their last four outings, including last weekend's 28-24 defeat at Rochester. The offense is averaging 303.5 yards per game (102.2 rushing, 209.7 passing). Defensively, Merchant Marine is allowing 311.8 yards per game (135.0, 168.5). Quarterback Chuck Kleinschnitz has thrown for 1,258 yards and six touchdowns, but has been intercepted five times. Jon Spiropoulos (19 rec, 203 yds, TD) and Preston Morgan (18, 298, 2) are his top targets. On the ground, John Watson has a team-high 298 yards and two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Garron Edgington leads the team with 53 tackles, while Art Dahlin boasts a Liberty League leading eight sacks.

I thought Eric Byrnes was top-notch on the ESPN studio shows during the Division Series. Animated, knowledgeable, not afraid to speak his mind -- like Harold Reynolds only still employed.

Not sure of the Rev's credentials, but there is also the Cornell Ag station and the State Food Lab is moving to Geneva from Albany. Don't look to getting a job at The Holiday, as it is closed! License yanked.
