Will they be right about Ithaca this year? Maybe, maybe not...As much as I'd like to see the Liberty League get two teams into the tournament Ithaca shouldn't get it's hopes up. As the D3 gurus, Greg and Pat, discuss it is only a guess whether the NCAA committee will place a 2 loss Ithaca team ahead of 9-1 Johns Hopkins in the final Region#2 Rankings. Last week Ithaca was #5 RR and Hopkins #6 but Ithaca lost to Cortland while Hopkins won Saturday...I know this. In 2019 the Centennial Conference felt cheated when their runner-up 9-1 Susquehanna(with their only loss in OT to Muhlenberg) was left out as the last Pool C.  The committee chose North Central instead (then were vindicated when they went on to win the championship). BTW in 2019 Greg and Pat predicted so. Will they be right about Ithaca this year.

Not saying this is on the table but could the committee have any thoughts of wanting to make amends to the CC this year?:o... Of course if Hopkins from the CC is RR'd ahead of Ithaca then the Bombers are out and maybe Hopkins in. Unfortunately we will not see the Final RR until after the brackets are announced. Watch the brackets today if Hopkins or Bethel pop up ahead of Ithaca it's bad news.

The true tragedy is that the Bombers played the top rated team in the East, and lost in heartbreaking style, while JHU played yet another doormat.  The CC has 2 1/2 great teams and 7 pillow fighters.  Hoping the committee recognizes that.

Really interesting playoff projections published. The gang has Ithaca going to Muhlenburg, where they definitely could have a shot to win. Love that Ithaca is still in the mix. And then they have Carnegie 'Thornton' Melon '@' RPI. Based on most of us assuming RPI cannot host, this will be a complete punch in the gut to RPI if they had to travel to CM. Not a trip anyone wants to take when you earned a home game. Not sure if a neutral field could be a potential, like in Albany or something, but I'd guess the location would flip. I'm personally hoping for an Endicott pairing. Trip to Beverly would only be about 3 hours as opposed to 7 and change. Just not sure that's a remote possibility. Then you also have Springfield and Framingham as close options. Both good pairings for RPI but Springfield just seems to 'make sense' to go to Mt Union, and for some reason Framingham ALWAYS goes to Cortland. So who knows.

If RPI has to travel 7+ hours somewhere as the 'home' team due to their pompous a$$hole president, it's pretty sad and she should be forced out immediately. Won't happen, but it should. What an embarrassment.

Hope the Union guys are walking ok this morning after the cannon festivities last night. Godspeed. I saw this jelly from Kentucky on a shelf at the store once. I bet it woulda helped.

Ice Bear thanks Mach for his heartfelt concern but he assures him there is no amount of lube in the ****ing world that will make yesterday (and last week even) feel better. As a matter of fact Ice scheduled a colonoscopy for tomorrow morning as he figures while it's open and sore he might as well get a medical procedure done...

I hadn't been smited in weeks/months? Solid streak. Someone clearly enjoys a different brand of lube. Sorry for the insult.

Good luck with the colonoscopy IB. At least one Union guy can laugh now and again.

Ice Bear would certainly love to see IC get in, but that just may not be the case with the 2 losses. Ice is keeping both his fingers and his iced testicles crossed hoping for the best.

Ice would also like to see the Springfield/Mt.Union matchup come to fruition. While it's no secret Ice loves him some Pride and the triple option O run at the college level, he will be interested to see if the Pride and their O could generate anything against the likes of the Mount D. Ice figures not, but he'd like to see it. He knows there would be some serious ****ing monkey stomping taking place in this matchup.

Also, Ice isn't exaggerating here as he would really like to see the new Union OC become the old Union OC immediately. The ****ing difference between the play calling, execution, and feel of the the Dutchmen O this year compared to two years ago is ****ing Grand Canyon Billy Fucillo HUGE and really plain old unacceptable. Whether or not Bellamy was/is indeed hurt (Ice really hopes the young man was not/is not injured), still doesn't excuse the complete one dimensional approach the Dutchmen took again and again. Maybe the drop from an injured or struggling Bellamy to Pacatte was so far that it wouldn't have mattered? However, Ice feels like with that ****ing receiving core the U had to at least try it. To leave that much talent out of your game focus against the three best teams in your league just doesn't hold mother****ing water. Just Ice's thoughts and of course he is sure there is another side/perspective/etc to all of this.

Looking forward to seeing the bracket this evening. Ice is one big ass RPI fan right now and hopes the Engineers get a home game (even with the BS Jackson attendance policy). The winner of the LL should not have to travel IIBHO. The Engineers earned the right for a home playoff game. Ice just cringes at Shirley and her obvious hatred of athletics and **** treatment of RPI athletes. It's really almost ****ing criminal and most certainly infantile.

Bartman is chuckling at the Ice Bear's little phrase under his handle "Keep plugging U" , now I know where Mach got the idea....hope your colonoscopy doesn't locate any barrel fragments....these close losses in the LL were very painful with or without the lube

UFan, I think your analysis is spot on. I'm hoping for an Ithaca Pool C, but certainly Hopkin's  9-1 in a decent conference is hard to gripe about. Ithaca is worthy of it, especially with such a high SOS and having 2 losses by a total of 4 points to NCAA tourney teams. I'd love to see how 2 LL teams compete in the playoffs.

That would be me Mach. I suspect you're the one that hits me on nearly everything I post. That's OK of course. I'll add you would not be aware of the times I've given you +k when you contribute something that's actually pertinent. I've been accused before (by my ex) of not having a sense of humor. Some things are just not funny...my ass is fine but I have had a headache since yesterday.

Some asses are just way more built for cannons than others. It's all about ass conditioning.

Engineers can thank Dr.Shirley for not getting a home game. Endicott up first, won't be that easy, then a chance to beat the Dragons, and if you get by that a David v. Goliath game against North Cental. Good Luck. Tough luck for the Bombers.

So as the final insult to the RPI team, the admin actually turned down a home playoff game?  What in the actual f***?  The parents/alumni should burn the place down. Even playing a "home" game at a local high school field would be better than traveling to Boston....

Really don't know for sure if a home game was declined by RPI.

However, suspect it is more a case of the NCAA being scared off from entangling their tournament with an institution run by extremely elderly individuals who are way way way past anything anyone would consider a normal working age, some by over a decade. Recent decisions and actions taken by these individuals that eventually led to the almost comical results (if they weren't so sad and sickening) have pretty much convinced a number of onlookers that these extremely old people are now also totally bats!!!

Try to look at it from the position the NCAA was in. Obviously, they had to have been aware that both parents and relatives of RPI players and their counterparts from visiting regular season opponents were locked out of the stadium and left watching the game from far away on a distant hillside. They were probable also aware that many of these people not only resorted to binoculars just to see, but, also had to scamper in to the nearby woods when they had to pee!!! That begs the question why in the name of heaven would the NCAA ever hold any of their tournament games at a place where these conditions exist? Why would the NCAA put themselves in the crosshairs of very angry visiting relatives be they from Endicott or anywhere else should they have decided to send anyone to play here?

No, the NCAA's most prudent course of action was probably the one they reached. Open your f------ doors or get on the bus!!! Why the three non conference opponents and the three conference opponents who all visited Troy this year did not do and say the same thing is beyond me. Ditto the Liberty League itself who failed miserably in getting one rouge (bats!!!) member under control. As in such a cataclysmic failure that they actually allowed this institution to host the men's soccer tournament under the exact same conditions!!!

Do I mind the NCAA decision one little bit?? Nope!!! Despite first attending an RPI football game in 1963, I simply refused to subject myself to the present utterly lunatic spectator policies and did not attend a single solitary D3 football game for two years until this past Saturday at Union. However, now that I know that these loons are totally out of my way and I can now go to ALL remaining games without interruption and do so in more than sub human conditions, I am going to do just that. Even if it eventually involves Chicago though, in that case, Amtrak and the local transit system will replace a steering wheel.

As for player relatives, I seriously doubt they care a lick that the NCAA sent RPI on the road. Hardly, any of them live in the Capital District of New York anyway. Virtually ALL games are drives involving distance to them be they home or away. What the hell would they be upset about? Driving somewhere other than Troy and being able to watch a game as human beings instead of animals!!! Really!!!

Bummed IC didn't get in, but not upset. It was laid out for them. Gotta hold a 13 point, late 3rd quarter lead.
