Good to see RPI get it together in the 2nd half.

Ithaca/Union looks like fun!

I wish there were a cowbell filter that would eliminate or at least greatly reduce the noise of all these cowbells on this stream. Ugh...

Aidan Conrath is finally back at starting QB and looks very sharp carving up the saints as Hobart leads 28-0 at the half, even with a fumble by EJ on the SLU 2 yard line. Too bad Conrath was not available for our losses to Ithaca and RPI, but he'll be back next year.Hopefully they'll keep the pressure on the Larries the rest of the day.
Game of the day has Union behind Ithaca 21-14 at the half. I still think Union will pull this out at home, but their offense has to pick it up.

Yeah, as if Union people weren't already the most annoying creatures on the planet, some horrible human introduced them to the cowbell.

Union's offense is fine. They had Ithaca stopped deep in their own territory on 4th and 5 and gave them a 1st down with an offsides. Result of drive: Ithaca touchdown.

Then they had Ithaca stopped again, roughing the kicker (15-yards). Result of drive: Ithaca touchdown.

Ithaca's third scoring drive was aided by a pass interference on 2nd and 20 and later a roughing the passer.

Union has to clean it up.

Uh oh, Montclair beat Salisbury. Definitely gonna be top 15. And TCNJ only down 9-7 vs big bad Rowan at the half. Better make room for TCNJ too. NJAC is LOADED!!!

Finishes Ithaca 35 Union 14.  That second half was just a show from the Bombers, Union had a couple of chances early in it but didn't get anything from it and the game just cascaded from there.  On to what is now a likely conference championship between the Bombers and RPI in two weeks.

Hilbert and Buffalo State trading blows early, tied at 15 in the second quarter.

Through six games this season, Hilbert scored a total of 30 points.

Hilbert has 21 in the first half against Buff St.

Union dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half, but a fumble and 2 missed 4th down conversions left them with nothing to show for it.

After Union's 2nd missed conversion, Ithaca's running game finally started clicking and the game was over.

An wildly undisciplined Union team hands Ithaca a win.

-- An offside on 4th and 5 gives Ithaca a first down, followed up two plays later by a 15-yard facemask leads to IC's first touchdown

-- A roughing the punter penalty on a 4th and 5 keeps another drive alive. Though credit to Ithaca for picking up a 3rd and 23 later with a deep shot to Nick Lang rather than playing conservatively.

-- A pass interference penalty on 2nd and 20 is followed up by an inexcusable unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and then a roughing the passer penalty, handing Ithaca 45 yards for a touchdown with just 20 seconds to go in the half

-- Rather than using the half to try to reset and calm down, Union picks up another unsportsmanlike conduct penalty early in the 3rd -- the announcers said it was on Drach.

-- Then Union intercepts Reed, only to have an offside penalty negate it -- though the Bombers do not capitalize.

The Bombers eventually put Union away thanks to some big defensive plays -- a forced fumble with the Chargers in the red zone, a huge 4th and 1 stop by all-American Joe Spira, and some big offensive plays in the 4th.

But had Union played with even a modicum of discipline in the first half it might have been a different story.

Of course, they don't have Toerper to complain about this year. So we'll see if they do some soul searching before the shoes game.

Also, was Union's kicker hurt? They went for 2 after both TDs and the way they played in the red zone made me think they believed it was end zone or bust

To be fair, Reed knew he had a free play there. He probably doesn't risk that throw if flags  weren't flying all over the place.

But yeah, an unusual number of defensive encroachments/offsides.

You could definitely make the case that Union outplayed Ithaca for the first 3+ quarters today, despite trailing for much of that spell.

I blame the cowbells.

Also, speaking of Toerper, Cornell is off to a nice-ish start this season...except defensively, where they've looked abysmal at times.

Cornell gave up 21 straight to end the game @ Brown this afternoon en route to blowing a 14 point 4th quarter lead in an overtime loss. Ouch.

BomberJeff

Buffalo State got the lead midway through the 3rd quarter and never looks back.  Bengals 39 Hilbert 27 to get Buffalo State a notch in the win column.
