That's the problem Ithaca had. Cortland was delivering the type of quality they were, at a fraction of the cost, and everyone wound up in the same place.

Music, film, TV/Radio production, and PT/ATC is where Ithaca really stands out relative to peers, but those just...aren't appealing majors to football players

It's amazing to see the majors of the Union team evolve over time.  Probably at least half Econ now (Union has no business program), with nearly all the rest either Engineering or Bio\Neuroscience.

Last night, I noticed that Mekhi Rodgers, DB, played for JMU in the CFP game . He was a starting CB for Hobart thru Sophomore year , then transferred to Saint Francis before being recruited to JMU to play this year. Congrats to Mekhi for pursuing his dream to play for a top D1 program.

According to local news sources Susquehanna head coach Tom Perkovich is being named the new coach at FCS UAlbany.

Jeff Behrman moves on from his alma mater JCU after just three seasons, headed to Bucknell So much for the perfect dream job! His name was also in the mix for the UAlbany job that ultimately went to the Susquehanna coach.

In other news, just saw Matthew Parker commit to transfer to Alfred. Looks like Ithaca also lost a backup WR to SJF.

Anyone heard anything on the IC coaching search?

Haven't heard much but definitely a newer trend where d3 head coaches go right to the FCS level head coaching spot.  Just thinking how even Cignetti goes from WR coach at Bama and other d1 position spots to head coach at D2 then back up the chain again.

As much as it sucks, this is a great thing for D3 as a whole. It shows that the division is respected; that "bigger" schools recognize the skills and abilities of its coaches.

You're still going to have D3 lifers, but I suspect it's increasingly going to be by choice, not a belief that these guys aren't capable of coaching elsewhere.

Watching the D3 Championshipp reminded me how much I enjoy D3 Football without all of the money and annual roster recruiting insanity at the FBS level. Don't get me wrong, the entertainment value of the incredible Power Conference athletes on game day is awesome, especially with the playoff system.. But, I appreciate the D3 coaches and athletes for the pure effort and competition. So , I will always be "all in" as a fan for the Liberty League Championship competion every year and 2026 should be another entertaining fight for the crown.
