I'm sorry, but I was actually listening to Collin Cowherd this morning, and he said that Boston and St. Louis are the two best baseball markets in the U.S. so he already left st. louis for the money what;s to say that he won't leave boston in a couple of years, and yes Damon only played for four years, but Boston does not have a whole lot of "lifers" yes they are now getting a bunch of young pitching that they are now keeping, but in 2004 they were almost all free agent pickups or trades

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I don't think there are any cities that can match up in baseball like Boston, NY and Chicago.  St. Louis fans cheer for both teams.

superman57

I thought the same thing, butsometimes it's not just about cheering for one team but watching baseball period

the phillies orginally drafted drew and he and his agent wanted an astronomical bonus (much higher than any player had gotten in history at that point) for a guy who hadnt played 1 inning of even minor league ball. phillies finally told him to go pound sand. drew will be leave boston shortly as he is nothing but about money and even worse than him is his agent scott boras who always wants new contracts as it puts more coin in his pockets. and yes he is very injury prone and will pout  and become a huge pain in the locker room if he doesnt get his way

I like Lugo, except he grabs his nuts too much and it makes me uncomfortable.

JT pbr cant wait to see what ol' george is going to charge for the new stadium tickets and boxes....pbr knows how much the phillies tix went thru the roof and pbr means went up by HUGE amounts let alone what george is going to charge. wait until people see what it costs to take spouse and kids to a game any guesses out there? for 4 people $500+ for a night at the ol' ball game?

PBR, you don't even need a new stadium to have high ticket prices.  A seat at Fenway is far and away the most expensive in all of baseball....2 things obviously drive this, demand/interest in the Sox and seating capacity at Fenway.....Fenway is tiny compared to almost any other park in all of baseball.

More on Fenway, the sightlines suck......the seats are narrow as hell.....beer is $7.50 for 16 oz. drafts of Miller Lite....to get 2 beers, you wait in huge lines and miss about 30 minutes of the game....stadium itself stinks like whizz.

All those things, but Fenway is still the best place on earth....to walk through the tunnel and out to the seating area is totally overwhelming....all those liberal bastards who used to hold up signs for a new ballpark should be forced to eat Price Chopper brand macaroni & cheese.

I got 2 tickets to Dice-K's first Fenway start for $76 total off of Ebay. They were bleacher seats, but they weren't horrible seats, and I can always say I was there for Dice's first home start.

I've been to a bunch of stadiums...I like the outside of Fenway and the way that it is just a huge party scene right there...but the seats suck they don't face home. Yankee Stadium is a great place and so historic...but the ushers are unfriendly and you don't really feel save at the stadium...though you gotta go get an italion sausage at the game.... Wrigley is awesome it's just like a big party.... but the best of all that I've been to so far has to be safeco

Safeco was cool, minus all of the bums outside, and all of the Asian girls running up next to me in between each inning taking pictures of Ichiro's bum.  Angel Stadium had the hottest chicks.  Petco is sweet as you are right smack dab int he middle of the Gaslamp District.  Baltimore is sweet too.

The worst?  Atlanta(great stadium, horrible surroundings), Washington(horrible stadium, middle of the ghetto), and The Jake(Cool Stadium, middle of a toilet)....

Minnesota's Stadium sucks, but downtown is pretty cool there and chicks are smoking hot, and ridiculously tall.  I could walk around Boston and see over 90% of the bar, then in Minneapolis, I felt like a midget.  guys and girls, I was seeing about nipple high on everyone.

Honestly, I would rather go to the bars around Fenway than actually in the game.  It's just as much fun, a little cheaper, and you probably watch more of the game, as you spend most of the game in the beer line or the pee lines.

Re: ticket prices.

beisbol tickets are only expensive if you want to see the game (minus the small stadiums). You can get braves tix for $5 in the nosebleeds and spend the rest of your money on beer. And LD would agree that some female braves fans are easy on the eyes... maybe it was the beer.

LD... some kind words about our turner field experience, please.

Inside the ballpark I had a blast.  Outside was horrendous.  Nice ladies and people at the Chop House.  And some weird old guy who idolized us during our reminiscing....And of course Gro did the tomahawk Chop...

Camden Yards is awesome....lived in Baltimore and went there alot.

MN has smokin' hot chicks??  hhmmmm....I'm in Minny all the time and see families galore and tons of pan handlers.

Lastly, 'Gro DID NOT do the tomahawk chop!!!!!!!  A black man....at a baseball game....doing the chop??  We need that up on youtube!!!

JT favorite stadiums are Yankee, Fenway (some of the seats suck due to obstruction, but JT had a blast Sox-Toronto, Sox-A's, Sox-Twinkies, Sox-Cleveland... JT's never been able to do Sox-Yanks at Fenway yet), Wrigley, Camden Yards.

Been to plenty of minor league fields Trenton (was AA Boston JT saw Nomar on his way up, now AA Yankees) is very nice, great cheap food and beer.  If JT is traveling on business in the Spring and Summer he looks for A, AA, AAA games.

Gro asked LD to take a pic of him doing the chop (then of course forgot about it, claimed he never did it, then LD posted said pic on LLPP)... it was all in fun. Now if a video exists of young gro doing the "heeey-hoooo" dance to hip hop hooray at an albany firebirds game in the mid 90's that would be youtube worthy.
