I wasn't really set on Pedroia either, but it was good to see that they gave him a chance.

And just as U89 lowers Manny's grade, the guy comes up big! You never know, maybe Manny is a secret LLPP lurker and was motivated by U89's C+ grade.......

Manny returns to left field after checking LLPP on his laptop in the greenmonster.
BOL, +1K....

PBR...

pbr slowly waking from a drunken state during fathers day...hope everyone had a great weekend pbr's not sure his liver will ever be the same....

So Reg did not make the opening weekend at Red Eyes dock bar.....too bad, too.  Now all I can do is wait for the pics to be posted on the internet.  Hopefully this years talent is good.

Reg had a pretty laid back weekend.....funny story from yesterday, went to see my buddy down at his marina and thought I would try the pool (that's where he said he would be),....anywhooo, he wasn't there, but there was a younger couple in the pool...uh....."making waves".  Reg set has cooler down and walked away with the biggest ish eating grin ever.....Needless to say, Reg didn't do much swimming yesterday.

PBR...

LMAO reg....would of been hilarious if reg just sits down and says "dont let me stop keep on doing what your doing...." kick back with a cold beer and watch....wtf w/ pacman????? This cat is just one bad apple....after being suspended for a year his  entourage is wanted for a shooting outside another strip club....this cat is going to be the poster child for lifetime nfl suspension....
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police want to question Jones
following a shooting at a DeKalb (GA) county strip club.

Police said Jones' entourage got into an argument with three other men at a
club. When the three men left, Jones' entourage followed in two vehicles and
someone from Jones' entourage allegedly shot into the vehicle they were
following.

One person in the victim's car suffered minor injuries from shrapnel but refused
treatment, police said.

Charges have not yet been filed.

It was funny, I didn't say anything to them....they didn't say anything to me....
There was about 10 seconds from the point at which I walked up until the brain surgeon BF came up with the line "You always try to drown me!!"  Ahhhh, dude, I understand you are embarassed, but couldn't you have come up with something better?

How embarrasing! BOL!!!!

*Wakefield-  B
He'd be an A or a C if he wasn't so streaky.  He's either nasty or gets rocked, but that's Wake and that's a knuckleball guy.  Can NOT move this guy to the pen because he eats too many innings.

Speaking of streaky Wake, TGP has tickets in hand for this Saturday night's San Diego-Red Sox game.  Been planning the trip since the '07 schedule came out - taking the whole family down - got a hotel on the bay - the whole nine.  Kind of bummed it looks like we'll get Wake on Saturday - especially since he normally follows a decent outing like yesterday's with a stink bomb - but us West Coast beggars can't be choosers.

Check out the thread on the General Board called "Which D-III conferences are the best for academics AND athletics?"

http://www.d3sports.com/post/index.php?topic=4986.30

Although TGP would dispute Union, RPI and HWS having a lower academic rankings than "Grove City College", TGP was proud to see his alma mater listed as the tops in the LL ;)

In fact, TGP's kinda pissed at how low they have Bart's academic rating but whatever.  In TGP's experience rankings are never objective.

TGP will take the #2 grad rating though - that would be a huge improvement since TGP's days in Geneva.  Our retention back in the day was not great.

I don't quite understand that breakdown?  There are a 3 academic rankings of 1?  What are they ranked 1 in?  MIT has a 7 Academic Ranking and a 58 Athletic Ranking, and RPI has a 43 Academic Ranking and a 71 Athletic Ranking?  Ithaca has a 7 Academic Ranking and a 26 Athletic Ranking?

Where do these #'s come from?  DO they make ANY sense?

# 1 Academic Rankings include:
Williams
Trinity (TX)
Linfield

None of these #'s really make any sense to me?

LD11-

It is a well known fact that Ithaca and MIT are on par academically with each other.

It's only science....don't try to understand it.  (obvioulsy you went to the 43rd best academic school and not Ithaca, where they understand how this works)

'gro

RPI took a hit in academics when 48% of the student body couldn't spell Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Gro loves freedom, Gro loves the law, but gro has a feeling this person of interest in the settlement looked like one of the meth addicts JU posted a while back.

While checking out the ATN thread, TGP noted that apparently Susquehanna has a sweet football stadium - probably the best in the LL!  Check it out:

what wasn't included on the General Board was the explanation of the chart.  here is it below.

QuoteThe Collegiate Power Rankings are calculated for each school at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels by averaging the U.S. News & World Report ranking, the U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup ranking and the NCAA student-athlete graduation rate of each school. The U.S. Sports Academy Directors' Cup ranking evaluates the strength of NCAA athletic departments, while the U.S. News & World Report ranking recognizes institutions of academic excellence. The student-athlete graduation rates are based on those provided by the NCAA.

don't know if that clears anything up at all, but clearly there is something interesting going on with those rankings.  Carleton had a 5 academic and Macalester had a 25, both great schools but there's not that much swing between the two and if one was "better" it would be Macalester.  As for Ithaca and it's 7, I have no idea about that.  I know it has gotten better and that I most likely would not get in today with my numbers from 10 years ago....but a 7 seems high.

Would love to know all of the factors of the academic rankings.
