the whole incident has been blown way out of proportion. this team has thrived for the past 6 years on players placing the team above themselves (as all great teams do).

Credit the blown out of proportion thing to the fact that the DNR keeps calling Roger on the phone and he keeps giving them what they want instead of letting the situation drop and saving at least some face while he still can.  Whatever happened to "no comment"?

religion_major

I know that it will not be popular to say on here, but the DNR is trying to cover a story.  Seeing as Roger is no longer a part of the team he is free to say what he thinks.  Would it be better for everyone to let the it drop?  Yes, but that is a choice that Roger, the DNR and the BC football program need to make.  For the football team's part, it seems like they are done talking to the DNR from what the artical said.

Bublavi is by far the most talented player in the odac. Teams triple team him and he still is the leading reciever in the country by over 400 yards. He averaged 180 yards a game for a seaon. Your lucky to have that as a career high let alone a season average. He has also shattered the all time recieving yards in the ODAC  (career)by 800 yards. 800 yards is a good season itself. Bublavi is by far, hands down the player of the year in the ODAC if not country.

He's good.  I'm sure throwing the ball 70-80 times a game helped his numbers.  I've seen WR's in D-3 that impressed me as much if not more than he did (Jones and Coleman from Widener, Rowan had a good guy, Mt. Union had good guys, Singh from HSC was good, Urban from Trinity <who's in the NFL now>, Richardson from BC, Krepps from W&J).

So Bublavi's very good, but I would not say "by far the most talented player in the ODAC" good.

I agree with you and but the best, toughest, and most fearless reciever (running over the middle) was GC-Q's Chris McKinnie. (sp) ala 2000. I have seen him take some brutal hits and hang on. He was the offense in those days. He was one of those "glidomatic" types that was very deceptive. Maybe not as many yards, but one of the best out of the ODAC

As far as Guilford WR's go, I thought Junior Lord was better than McKinnie.  He got a look from the Redskins, and I think he had (or has) a decent career in Arena football as well.  Both Lord and McKinnie played in offenses that were a lot different than the things that Guilford and CUA are running now so stats aren't everything (esp considering CUA and Guilford w/ all there prolific statistics were a combined 7-13 in the W-L colum this year...)

Catholic only threw 61 times a game. :)

Finally read the Around the Nation about Trinity after seeing them on ESPN for their winning streak.  I thought it was quite interesting that the players really don't seem to care about playoffs and would rather not play another game so they can concentrate on classes.  I would think being a person competitive enough to play college football it would be hard to watch others go on to playoffs and to just stop your season.  More power to em.  Also he gave BC a little love..."they don't have overwhelming speed, like a Bridgewater"  or something like that.  Anyway interesting article.  Go BC!

Good point. I read about Lords but never saw him. I heard he was a MAN so evidenced by playing at the next next level for so many years. I think McKinnie is playing AFL 1 somewhere but I cannot remember.

I visited with one of my clients in the Pittsburgh area today who is from Washington, PA and a huge fan of W & J.  She noted that W & J couldn't be more excited to have another opportunity to play Bridgewater.  We talked about the connection Brandon Wakefield has with both teams and she passed the following article posted today in the local newspaper, Observer-Reporter.  They wrote a nice article about Wakefield and I thought I'd pass it along to many of you.

This second season is what we all long and live for.  Go BC!  I know you will make us proud!  (And hopefully help me win some money!!!)

Great article on Wakefield. He has a job to do this week and will do it with class.

Jeremybozz: No doubt about it!  Wakefield (as much crap as I gave him last week) is a good seed.  I hope he's reading this.  My finger still hurts like hell.  I make my living at typing and with my finger jammed by one of his passes last weekend it's slowing me down at work!

Let's go BC!  I know we haven't had a home playoff game in quite a while?  Two years?  Against Trinity?  Can anyone confirm?

The tailgate at Stone Station is shaping up to be a good one!  Let's go Rowdy Hoover!  Rock and Roll!
