Quote from: jekelish on August 18, 2026, 06:25:31 PMFound out today that Austin College has a first-year receiver who went viral last fall for a 750+ yard, 11 touchdown game. Granted, it was 6-man football at a small level, but I'll be curious to check out his progression and see if he can get on the field this year. He's about 6-1, 190, so he's got good size at least.

I tried finding him in the 2025 DCTF and had no luck finding an East Texas team whose mascot is the Titans ... and goes to "Trinity" HS? Channel 19 comes from Longview.

Here is the link. I cannot find them in DCTF's private schools' section.

The Third Division

Even after hiring birmingham-southern's head coach who's made the playoffs there austin has still suffered.

Sixmanfootball.com has them in TAPPS Division III, District 3.  According to Maxpreps the team was 1-6 last season.

Austin has struggled in many sports for some time - 9th of 12 schools in the SCAC President's Trophy last season - but football has been problematic for decades.  The last season they were over .500 was 2000.  It's a small school - 1181 undergrads last year per their common data set - with a roster around 100.  Hard to turn around a program like that and quite honestly it just might not be a priority.

As we start a new season, give @SCACcommish a follow!

Who knows, there might be more fun announcements coming soon...

Which of course could mean anything, or nothing ...

Unless more comes out he responded to the tweet saying his old account was hacked and was starting from scratch which in a weird way does describe what he has done from SCAC football  ;D

Logan Hansen's SCAC preview is out.  It gives TLU a 64% chance of winning the conference, Hendrix 33%.  These are also the only two teams he projects to finish above .500 with TLU 7.6-2.4 and Hendrix 6.9-3.1.

Nice story on the now three-headed QB situation at TLU by D3football.com's Joe Sager this week.  It turns out that the knee injury Caden Bosanko suffered before Week 1 was sadly again season-ending.

TLU LB Malik Johnson returned two interceptions for touchdowns against Lyon yesterday, one in each half - part of a four-INT day for the Bulldogs, and he personally had three.  Amazingly, that is the second time in five games he has returned two interceptions for scores.

Before yesterday, TLU led all divisions of football in interceptions, and with four more (sixteen total on the season) they likely remain leaders in that category (h/t to their game writeup which highlighted most of these facts).

TLU and Hendrix battle in Seguin next week and likely will face off again for the SCAC championship November 14th, with a potential playoff rematch with the Trinity squad that gave them what could be their only loss of the season in the cards after that.  It's hard to see any of the other teams in the SCAC getting involved in the 1v2 championship.  As to who wins a TLU-Hendrix final, it depends on which Warrior team shows up - the one that lost to Huntingdon and fell badly behind Schreiner yesterday, or the one that beat Millsaps on the road or outscored Schreiner 42-13 in the comeback win, also on the road.
