To the Landmark guys this is something I have been trying to figure out.Massey gives you game by game . NPI will not. So I'm looking for  how did they count that Susquehanna game as a neutral game for Scranton or an  Away game? The Landmark justified that Susquehanna be home Scranton away so do you get more of a multiplier for that game even though it was played at the Palestra Scranton was still away .

DIII Women's Basketball does not use a home/away multiplier in NPI calculations.  In DIII women's basketball, a win counts equally whether the game is home, away, or on a neutral floor.  Once a team reaches 15 actual wins, that team on the 16th win can drop a win that hurts their NPI calculations.

DIII Men's Basketball uses the home/away multiplier, and the multiplier is different for conference and non-conference games.

Scranton is currently ranked #7 in the DIII Women's NPI national rankings this morning and the unofficial number this morning according to D3Datacast is 62.703 as of 9:09 AM ET this morning-- the most recent run of the D3Datacast numbers using the scores from Massey.

Scranton is 20-0 going into their home game vs Elizabethtown this afternoon, and since the NPI ranking uses Scranton's best 15 wins for purposes of the NPI calculation-- Scranton is no longer counting the win vs Wilkes, the win vs Penn State Harrisburg, the season sweep vs Goucher, and one of the 2 wins vs Juniata.  If Scranton beats Elizabethtown today, the other win vs Juniata will be dropped.

Scranton is hurt in conference because so many Landmark teams are below the top 150 in the national NPI rankings, so the Lady Royals have to win out as many games as they can because a lot of Landmark Conference opponents do not carry quality win bonuses.

The official NPI summary report for games through February 1 as published by the NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Committee can be found at

You can get to Scranton's NPI resume afterwards on the NCAA page by clicking on the NPI rank number for Scranton, which is #7 as of games through February 1.

Massey and NPI are measuring different things.

Thanks Deiscanton. I totally agree about the Landmark .

Absolutely dominating performance today by the Lady Royals vs. E-town.
Inside.
Outside.
Around & through.
Kaeli R. does a remarkable job running a pretty darn good team & keeping everyone involved offensively & defensively.

Just noticed that last Wednesday against Moravian, Kaci Kranson passed Meredith Mesaris to become the all-time leading scorer in Landmark conference history.  Congrats, Kaci!

Yes, and she's now 84 points behind Kelly Halpin for 3rd. place in scoring in UofS history.
If the Lady Royals can make a deep run, she has a shot at taking over the # 2 spot from Taryn Mellody.
Taking over the top spot from Jen Nish may be too much of a reach.

Just Imagine if Mellody or Kranson played as much time as Nish did!!

Great point about Kaeli Romanowski. Reminds me of the duo of Matt and Mellody(Rom & Kranson)  but will give up the ball instead of taking it herself. They have the one two punch and also the surrounding cast around them.

Your post led me to check out those Landmark stats:
If Meredith wanted to defend her 1st place scorer standing, she should have double-teamed Kaci when they played against each other this season.  8-)
Kaeli Romanowski is incorrectly missing from the career standing in steals even though she had enough(260) after her 1st 3 seasons to be in 3rd place going into this season; with this season to date, she has moved into 1st place, also, displacing former Royal Megan Kopecki.
Wrt to assist/turnover ratio, Jenna Sloan will obliterate the current 1st place record(1.99) once she gets 21 more assists to minimally qualify(225). Her current ratio is 3.77.

Augie,
Thus far Kaci has played in 110 games & has been on the court for 2,798 minutes.
This comes out to an average of 25 minutes per game.
Pretty nice point return for minutes on the court.  ;)
