For instance Susquehanna women have 4 losses two to the number 2 team in the country and two by a total of 7 pts they beat Gettysburg that has 6 losses but they are ahead of them in the NPI. I hope they look at the full picture and not by just the NPI #. NO WAY A TEAM WITH 10 LOSSES SHOULD BE IN OVER A TEAM WITH 4 LOSSES IN MY BOOKS

They will only look at the NPI number. That's what it's for.

If Susquehanna misses it will be because they booked the 119th best NonConference schedule knowing full well the bottom of their conference is terrible and they were going to have EIGHT games from their conference they just can't count.

Playing one NonConf team outside the top 200 and one outside the top 300 is a killer.

I think Susquehanna is a better basketball team than their NPI resume.

But their own NonConf scheduling did them no favors.

If they had played PSU-Abington twice instead of Muhlenberg and Eastern they would be far ahead of UWRF.

Moravian AD/Women's Basketball HC Mary Beth Spirk will retire on May 1 after 45 years with the Greyhounds. President Bryon Grigsby: "Mary Beth has shaped Moravian University for the past 45 years in ways that are impossible to overstate. She is not only an outstanding women's basketball coach, but for the last nine years she has also excelled as our Director of Athletics. Mary Beth became head women's basketball coach while I was a student at Moravian, so I had the privilege of witnessing the beginning of an extraordinary coaching career—one that has led the Greyhounds to nine NCAA tournament appearances. It is truly bittersweet to stand here at the close of that remarkable journey. She has been a tireless advocate for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund's Play4Kay initiative, and it is extraordinary that Moravian has raised more than $250,000 under her leadership for that cause. Off the court, Mary Beth's impact as AD has been transformational: she has overseen the addition of three sports, significant upgrades to many of our athletic facilities, and the raising of over one million dollars through our annual Athletics Giving Challenge. Mary Beth will be deeply missed."  per d3ticker...

No doubt ,totally agree  with you but when you see Gettysburg a team with 6 losses and Susquehanna with 4 losses by the way Susquehanna beat Gettysburg h2h I just think you need some human input involved also not just the computer. Just watching the game for over 40 + years I personally always liked the human involvement and not the computer telling us who should be in. But I'm just another fan. Hopefully we will never see a team that is say 15-10 in the playoffs in d3 over a 23-2 team. We are losing common sense. Maybe all divison should use the NET then instead of d1,d2 using NET and D3 using NPI. But I totally get what you are saying scottiedawg.

The tough part is it's easy to ad hoc identify the obvious "misses" of a system like NPI. But being able to do that does not mean a human is better. The system objectively ranks 413 teams over thousands of games and the value of that is much greater than some group of humans overriding it subjectively, even in situations where the entire nation would agree.

Well the human was great before NPI . All I'm saying is let's have some human input . The EYE NEVER LIES.

Kind of a relative statement as the eye sometimes only sees what it wants to see.  ;)

Per Ryan's mock bracket, should the Lady Royals win the first weekend they'd be off to JHU.
Goldfarb is a very drab middle school gym & that whole area is sketchy at best.

I pray he's wrong.

If you think the JHU neighborhood is sketchy, can I introduce you to "literally anywhere else in Baltimore?"

Sure.
I'll take Harbor East.
That's it.
As a lifelong Orioles fan that visits the Charm City several times a year, I'm well aware of the issues. ;)

Great Day to be a Royal

Let's not act like a stones throw from the Long Center isn't sketchy in Scranton!

Sketchy near the Long Center is like the Hamptons compared to the JHU area of Baltimore...totally apples & oranges.
The JHU campus is great, just referring to the neighborhood surrounding it.

In Scranton you could be bothered by someone asking you for a dollar, in Baltimore you might be shot dead for that dollar.

Also, 10 minutes from the Long Center you also have 500k homes near the park.

Totally different vibe of sketch.
