F&M did not look like the same team as lost to GBurg on the road in a game with a peculiar referee style.
Who would've given Dips a chance if told Nowoswiat would only score 6 pts.
I suppose the coronation of Hop may have to wait & maybe Dips arent as bad as thought by many experts.
Every week will reveal exciting revelations that aren't easy to predict. I cannot wait to watch.

Looks like Gettysburg's 33 lived up to his rep today.  He had 5 fouls in 8 minutes of play against Ursinus.

Greek Tragedy

So if I'm reading this correct, Swarthmore and JHU play each other twice, but only once in conference?

Yes, the CC went to an unbalanced scheduled that basically amounts to divisions, but they don't have divisions, so some teams schedule a home and home with rivals they no longer play twice.

Does anybody wonder if it is time for Dickinson to move on from Coach Seretti? I am a heavy follower of Centennial Conference basketball and while I know he has had great success in the past, and he is a gentleman and a respected coach with a great knowledge of the game, he has not had a winning season since 17-18 and his teams just consistently underperform year after year. Many, many talented players at Dickinson over the past 7 to 8 seasons, and I can really only think of maybe five who actually developed under Coach Seretti during that time. A lot of inconsistency with lineups, playing time, focus, preparation and intensity levels of his teams ... which to me is typically a reflection of the coach. I know Dickinson has made very big strides in the overall performance of their athletic department in recent years, and honestly the one team that does not seem to be moving forward is men's basketball. Dickinson is an outstanding school, great facilities, great location, plays in a very strong conference, and has an amazing basketball alumni group (which includes a basketball specific endowment for both the men's and women's programs). A lot to like here, and a lot to attract high quality student athletes. I would like to see things turn around for the Red Devils and Coach Seretti (who is also an Assistant AD), but maybe a change at the top of the men's basketball program is something to be considered.

Big, important clash in Collegeville tonight. URSINUS vs SWAT.
SWAT seems to be a very deep team. But Bears have good talent & most important are in their home cave where they likely will play a determined physical game & may well take a key game to stay at the top of CC in the 1st place logjam. In the early league play, the softer schedule more wins in non conference squads are not getting it done. I say kudos to GBurg & Dickinson for playing strong teams by seasons end they may stand well in playoffs.

Going into the semis, F&M are 8th in the At-large pool, so they are safe. JHU is 14th, pretty safe. Gettysburg will need to win the AQ to have any shot at the tournament, same as Ursinus.

Credit to F&M and Hopkins for their current position in the NPI rankings, but watching them each many times this season I never really walk away from their games and say "now that is a great team". Will be interesting to see how the Centennial tournament plays out, but unfortunately I don't think any of the four teams left in the conference tournament are built to make any noise in the NCAAs this year.

Unfortunately my thoughts on the Centennial teams in the NCAA's this season rang true as all three teams dropped their opening round games. Thought Gettysburg might be able to get past NYU, but the lack of depth due injuries to Gillus and Briscoe definitely were noticeable for the Bullets. For F&M the outstanding careers of Nowaswiat and  Grauslys came to an end, but honestly I think Cortland was the better team. Hopkins unfortunately ran into a team in TCNJ that is playing with tremendous confidence and executed almost flawlessly in the last 5 minutes outscoring Hopkins 13-4 during that stretch to steal the game from the Blue Jays. Enjoyable season of Centennial conference basketball and congratulations to Gettysburg on their regular season and conference tournament championships.
