Former Trinity QB Collin Bishop was interviewed on the PressPass Podcast about his time at Trinity and related topics.  This is a "twice weekly podcast highlighting individuals and sports in the Texas Pandhandle"; Colin was an all-state QB at Childress (in the Panhandle) prior to coming to Trinity.  Good stuff and worth investing 45 minutes in if you're still working back into the daily grind.

Anyone paying attention to Trinity football recognized this Tebow-esque QB was part of almost every aspect of the game.  A ubiquitous special teams player, a sideline leader, and still the occasional QB.  He helmed the team for an entire quarter late in the season using his brain and legs.

So glad to hear from this fine man.

Trinity's Caleb Bayer was today announced as the D3 winner of the Rimington Award, given annually to the nation's top centers in FCS, D2, D3, and NAIA.

Patrick Coleman

... also given annually to our first-team All-America center!

That's the second hire this week by Coach Freitag of young assistant coaches from the Monmouth staff as  Cooper Gosch was hired as our new defensive coordinator on Tuesday.

Awesome matchup between two great schools. Hopefully we see more of this throughout the division.

Also, general question. When is final top 25 coming out for football? Or have I missed it?

Hell yeah. Assume this will be first time the schools have matched up in FB?

The son of Trinity star WR Canaan Factor, who shares his dad's name, committed to play ball at Trinity. He is apparently a great athlete, and has the size (6'2) to make a great weapon outside in D3. His dad tore it up in the late 90s during Trinity's rise and is still top 5-6 in many of the receiving categories. Hope his son turns out to be a stud, too.

I remember Canaan Sr., he was a stud on Trinity's Flying Circus receiver corps at the turn of the century who as you say still has numerous entries in the school's all-time receiving lists (2,504 career receiving yards, 31 receiving TDs, and a 92-yard TD reception among them).  According to IG his son  was a 3-star recruit and that's a rare talent for a D3 school to sign.  Here's a nice story on him from May.  Plays football, basketball, and runs track at Fort Worth Country Day which would put him in the model of his new coach - Urban still holds a number of school and SCAC track records to this day.

According to Canaan Jr.'s Xitter, he had a D1 offer from Stetson before opting to sign at Trinity.
