Little concerning for football's future. If they were planning affiliate football to be for the foreseeable future they would have said it. USA South again? CCS recruiting someone from USA South to sponsor football?

It doesn't seem optimal from an SAA viewpoint to be sure but it's leaving Maryville's options open after that.

Silver lining is it buys Trinity and the SAA more time to figure out a longer-term solution.

Edit:  notice this announcement as well as the SAA's says only and specifically the '27-'28 school year.
Two years at a time. It is wise to re-consider in late 2028.

I think Maryville stays an affiliate for football as long as scheduling supports it and SAA keeps numbers.  CCS too small for football (unless the pull a SCAC attack on USA South) and USAC has 8 schools now.

Begs the question: is it easier for CCS to grow and add football, or SAA to course correct and stay viable?
