It will be interesting to see how the teams look after all the transfer portal stuff is over in a couple months.

Ron Boerger

Yes, D1 schools are definitely cherry-picking the top D3 baseball players (along with D2 and other D1s)

CLU's LHP Frank Willius (3-2, 2.78 ERA, 13 app/35.2 IP, .195 OBA) is off to UVa.

Starting to see a few rosters and schedules going up. Some big names have moved on and some others are ready to break out. Any pre-season predictions? The SCIAC looks to be a 4 or 5 team race again. LV and CLU appear to have lost the most key contributors with CMS losing arguably the biggest contributor.

Were there only 5 pre-season all Americans from Region 10?

Ron Boerger

Actually four.  Trinity is in Region 6 with their move to the SAA.

Quote from: Ron Boerger on January 20, 2026, 09:55:55 PMActually four.  Trinity is in Region 6 with their move to the SAA.
Trinity is likely to have a strong NPI but only 5 games are with Region 10, two with TLU and CTX and one with St Thomas.

#2526
First "real" weekend in Region 10.

Host Cal Lu (Preseason pick #4 in a strong SCIAC field) went 2-1 versus #22 McMurry (and #2 SCAC pick). McMurry beat SCIAC #5 Redlands on Sunday.

Host Oxy (SCIAC #8) beat Centenary (SCAC #6) 2 games to 1; Centenary beat Whittier (SCIAC #7) on Sunday.

LeTU (SCAC #7) hosted Millsaps (SAA #5) and won 2 of 3.

CMS #12 (SCIAC #1) hosted UMHB (ASC T#2) and won 2 of 3.

The NWC does not have its preseason picks posted.

#19 P-P swept Pacific in 3 games.

Not sure what to make of some of these scores so far. PP seems to have a prolific offense and no pitching. McMurry is having a rough start. Whitworth is hanging in there with some good teams and beat LV. The Cru with a couple top 15 wins so far and the rubber match today against Webster.
