It would have been interested to see if the league would have gotten 2 in if Vassar won.  Hobart won the leaggue during the season and it would have been interested if the tournament took that into consideration.  The same could have been true last year if SLU won on PKs as Vassar won the league during the reg season.  I am curious on if and where they seed Amherst.  Lost in the quarters again.

Congrats to Hobart to a great season and best of luck to them in the tournament. Hope they make the Liberty League proud.  Hats off to Vassar and the seniors as they had a great season.  Good luck to them in their future endeavors.

Hobart would have still be in with a loss today, likely as a 2 seed in a pod. Amherst will be a 2 or 3 seed in a pod this year.

I think Hobart winning combined with Cortland losing gives Hobart a home game this weekend. Ranked top 20 prior to this weekend and added a LL Championship and along with an undefeated season think is enough to give Hobart a game in Geneva this weekend

With the number of mens teams in top 16 that can't host due to also having womens teams hosting (it alternates each year, this year women have priority in the first weekend), Cortland (#17) is very likely to host anyways. Hobart certainly is high enough to host. Assuming both could do so is a local school decision. Host sites on the mens side will go down into the 20's of the NPI ranking.

Yes. Hobart hosts .I just hope they can find their scoring boots to get thru the weekend.

I don't think that got a good draw though.  Although Messiah has beendown this year their reputation precedes itself and then they may have to take on Calvin.  They were placed in the Tufts region.  I am hoping they do well and wish them luck.  They have a nice team.

Messiah has a relatively recent string of LL losses.  Was listening to Hobart coach's interview after the final.  He noted that he adjusted the defense against Vassar and used two holding mid-fielders.  Smart.  Tobolski will be player of the year.  Despite Vassar's dominance in the league in all offensive statistics defense wins championships.

Congrats to Coach Griffin and his coaching staff for being recognized by the Liberty League. Hobart is so lucky to have him as the Head Coach, a real gentleman that loves soccer. If Defense wins tournaments, the Statesmen have a chance.

Hats off to Hobart indeed.
Year after year they are a very competitive program.
Would be amazing to see them climb that mountain for the league.

Secretly, I was hoping to see Vassar win so the league could have their 2nd team make the dance, but Vassar will be back strong next season I'm sure.

I was too as I was hoping that the league will get two in then.  Hats off to Hobart as they have no losses going into the tournament. congrats to all the players who made all league.

Shawn deserves the spotlight as William Smith under AA Wilbur has been very successful and when you think about soccer at HWS, the Herons are first of mind(Championship in 2013). Messiah and likely Calvin will be challenging. It must have been cool in 1999 when SLU won it all, I can understand the frustration with the results recently.

We are living vicariously through the Statesmen with former SLU great Rob Brandell on the sidelines as the assistant coach.

It's the only thing we have going for us.
