Like all D3, all about finishing which is in short supply.

Quote from: Kuiper on October 08, 2026, 12:35:39 PMIf you look at the Centennial Composite Schedule, it almost feels like a deliberate move on the part of the conference for schools to schedule strong opponents this coming Tuesday/Wednesday.  It's probably just a coincidence that every conference member is playing a team higher than them on the NPI rankings, but it's pretty clear the schedule was structured to allow for this late-season non-conference game and schools may have decided they would be better prepared to play a stronger non-conference team later rather than earlier.  If every Centennial team won their mid-week game and got an NPI boost, that might help push another team into an at-large spot.

Tues 10/13

Haverford @ Manhattanville
Salisbury @ Ursinus
Gettysburg @ Carnegie Mellon
Stevens @ Swarthmore

Wed 10/14

Dickinson v. Christopher Newport
Messiah @ Muhlenberg

Very true! IMO, the Muhls don't have a shot against Messiah, but the other 5 have a chance.

Interesting. I would say the only team that has a decent chance is Haverford.

Haverford should be heavy favorites.  Manhattanville is not good.  They've played a weak schedule so far and got run off the pitch against Rowan.

I wouldn't be surprised if Swat gets a result against Stevens.  Stevens is in awful form.

Dickinson could win against CNU depending on which Dickinson team shows up. They're underperforming and inconsistent this season but they still have dangerous players. Dwamena is currently out with a hamstring injury which doesn't help because he's probably their best player.

Based on the early games today, you may be right

Haverford 3 - Manhattanville 1
Salisbury 2 - Ursinus 1
Carnegie Mellon 3 - Gettysburg 0

Big goose egg for the Conf. Conf tonight. Muhls fought hard against Messiah but lost 2-1. CNU beat Dickinson 1-0 in the 88+ min. Close but no cigars,

However Swat beat Stevens 4-1 and the Fords beat Manhattanville 3-1.

Very interesting that the Fords have the best record (10-3-1) in the Cent. Conf. by a bit but are currently in 7th place with a 2-3 record and currently out of the conf. playoffs.

Very, very mediocre year for the Cent. Conf. imo. Should be a crazy finish with each having 4 conf. games left.

Hopkins Walk-On

My former teammates and I suffered through the Hopkins-F&M game this afternoon. We've been going to at least one Hopkins game every season for over a decade. Today's game was the worst one we've ever seen.  F&M spent the whole game fouling. 23 called fouls (16 in the first half and there should have been more) and 6 yellow cards. Really unattractive soccer.

Still, Hopkins could not put anything in the net and not much that was even close. The goal they scored was cheap; after yet another F&M foul, Hopkins took the kick quickly before F&M was ready and scored.

Not a good day for D3 soccer.

Such a strange goal. I had the game on my phone while I was at a brewery, so I had to back the play up and replay it. I thought the ref stopped the clock on free kicks inside of 10 minutes? I can't keep track of the rule changes...

Messiah's next two matches are against two regionally ranked teams (York and Neumann). Good to see a few other MAC teams in the rankings at this time of the year.
