In the grand scheme of their season. Roanoke tying 0-0 with Lynchburg is a massive result and point on the board for Roanoke. If they can beat batten and Guilford. They'll likely make the conference tournament.

Washington and Lee with another draw falls further down the standings.

The league itself has had quite a bit of parity in results.

Case (pun not intended, but hey, it works) in point...

Take Case Western as an example of needing goals- last season they finished 7-5-5 (1-4-2) overall, scoring 19 goals and only giving up 8. Decent ratio but they scored those goals almost all during a soft non-conference schedule. Good defense, even in conference play, but could not score at all. They missed the tournament.

This year they are 10-0-2 so far (2-0-1) and have scored 30 goals while giving up 4 (in 12 games so far vs 17 last year). Same great defense as last year, but more than doubled their goals/game average (2.5 this year to 1.12 last year). They have been top 5 in rankings (top 5-10 in NPI) most of the year and will most likely make the tournament as either an AQ or at-large assuming they don't fall off a cliff the last couple of weeks.

F&M has allowed 14 goals over 13 games which is decent for any season, but is 4-7-3 and they have only scored 9 goals. 5 1-0 and two 2-0 loses.
