I have watched some SCIAC coverage but not every school. Chapman continues to have the best production, as it did before joining Flo.

I only watch it in soccer and have noticed significant change at Whittier and La Verne.  The picture quality seems better at Pomona-Pitzer (although it was decent before) and Occidental now is using a graphics widget for scores rather than just spotlighting the scoreboard.  These changes may be unrelated to the Landmark/Flo announcement of a unified hardware and software package.

Quote from: y_jack_lok on Yesterday at 01:16:35 PMSo the Landmark signed with Flo at the start of the 2023-2024 academic year: (https://landmarkconference.org/news/2023/7/12/07132023-lc-flosports-partnership.aspx)

Why would Flo Sports and the Landmark need to sign an extension if they had not even completed their third year of the first contract?  Interesting.

I do find it frustrating that they took this as an opportunity to mention the new software upgrades.

I have been doing my usual click to see the score and watch five minutes of the game viewings and have seen a number of slow broadcasts and a few games that were showing the technical difficulties screen.

As far as I know, all the initial five year contracts involve an "out" for both sides after the second or third year.  I imagine, in the process of evaluating the relationship, they worked out an extension.

I did have a little interaction with Flo PR this week, asking specifically about the less than flattering publicity they got from Bill Simmons.  The response was that they care a great deal about quality and are working to encourage schools to maximize quality (and believe their production suite is the answer).

This seems to be their big push to get to the level of production everybody wants.  It remains to be seen how successful that will end up being.  I do think, especially at the d3 level, schools will continue to struggle to do pay-level production for every single sport.  That's just incredibly tough given the limitations most schools have in resources and personnel.

Thanks Ryan, that is interesting.

I am sure your right about the struggle to meet expectations for a pay per view quality.  My standard is low, basically next to no buffering or Flo-side technical difficulties.

Admittedly, I am more neutral on Flo Sports than some others.  My biggest complaint remains the promise of something better than before, particularly the so-called exclusive content.

Ditto that.

Chapman is considered a top media arts school.
