I watched some of the Guilford/Greensboro game last night. The game was played at the UNC Greensboro coliseum and the video quality, which came via Flo Sports, was the best I've seen. Really crisp and clear. I suspect this has to do with superior equipment at UNCG, which would confirm what people have said that streaming quality itself is not controllable with just the Flo platform.

As Fall sports begin to conclude for the season, I am going to assign Flo Sports a failing grade for exclusive content. The UAA and others leagues promised that this would be a value-ad for subscribers.

Technology-wise, the live stream has been better lately, so there is that.

"exclusive" content:  You can't watch the games unless you subscribe.

They do have articles that I suppose are exclusive in the sense of being written by Flo staff (and maybe you have to be a subscriber to read them), such as this one about the Emory men's and women's soccer teams making the Final Four

They also occasionally have studio shows, but I haven't seen on in awhile.

They do have some articles, but not enough to get them out of the F tier.  And when they do, quality-wise, they are terrible.  They also have original content on social media, but those are limited.  For example, just one Tweet about Emory Men's Soccer even though three client schools had made the Women's Final Four.

Just recently (starting with post-Thanksgiving broadcasts) RMC has added a second camera. It has been in a couple of different locations, so they seem to by trying to decide on the best location. The quality of the livestreams have improved since the really awful stream of the game vs Yeshiva.

I do wonder if Flo "staff" are actually writing articles, or if there aren't just a few freelancers who cobble stuff together based on what AI feeds them.

I assume that all Flo Sports writers are freelancers, but hard to say.

Flo has 18 conferences along with multiple team events among other things.

The margins must be too small to properly staff the content teams.

I have little doubt that the writers are a combination of free lancers and AI (or free lancers who use AI).

The truly exclusive content is on social media and halftime segments where they show highlight clips and player spotlights from FloSports broadcasts.

True, though the lack of content on social media was what prompted me to post.

In Division III soccer, as you know, Flo had four teams from three client schools in the Final Four and only one post about the Emory men making the Final Four.  That is until 26 minutes ago.

Maybe they do more on Instagram or I missed something.

I'm guessing they use local college student interns (UT is only a stone's throw from their offices in downtown Austin) for a lot of that content.

@FloCollegeSoccer certainly posted or re-posted from Flo schools a decent amount.  See this one today about Wash U's women's national championship and this one in advance of the Emory - Trinity game.  They also re-posted a UAA post about men and women's teams in the Final Four.  They probably had more posts about their DI and DII leagues, but that's not all that different from the NCAA itself.

They also did posts (or reposts) about random post-season awards earned by teams in Flo conferences.  See this one about W&L men's soccer in the ODAC and this one about Coast Guard men's soccer in the NEWMAC.

I don't think they put a ton of effort there, but they do show up in my feed during the season with clips and photos every week.

I hear you, I am just not impressed by the social media strategy or the reposts.

The promise was for non-live and feature-style coverage and that is my benchmark.

But someone else suggested that it was about giving the schools more resources to produce the coverage, so I don't know.
