Dwayne has talked about this almost since day one of the Flogreement.  They've hosted other tournaments (baseball comes to mind) at facilities they rent.  They pitch it as a great experience for the kids but I think it would be more fun to have people in the stands.  Let's face it, nobody (except maybe Hendrix) is going all the way to Little Rock to watch that championship weekend.

I can't remember any other conference making similar statements post-Flo.

But I should have been more specific.  I would love to know what that means financially. 

The 30K per school number has been thrown around, but are they also giving a meaningful amount of money to the league?  Do the schools get less?

From what I've gathered, it really does depend on the conference.  Some have given the conference office an equal share with each school - money that's used to supplement championships, etc.

I missed this note when I first read the SCAC announcement about the two year extension with FloSports:

Additionally, FloSports will launch a nationwide, free streaming option – the FloSports Channel – this Fall, giving fans more ways to watch select matchups.

Not sure how many "free" games will be included or in how many sports, but it's something to watch out for rather than automatically expecting that you won't be able to watch a game just because it's on Flo.

Been told that, after a certain amount of time, streams on Flo will be made free as archived games. Or at least, that was the plan. I assume it's still moving forward in that direction. So there's a high liklihood that all games will be free a few days after the fact, unless something has changed from the last time I was given this info.

 From one who watches those delayed videostreams, it's been sporadic in the Landmark wrt basketball the past 2 seasons; some schools don't have them available.

Yeah, it's been on the individual schools to post them other places. What my understanding is, is that moving forward, Flo is going to make the archived streams available for free on their own platform to cut out that middle man. At least, that's the last that I'd heard about it, so I'm just working under the assumption that's going to be happening.

To be honest, I watched a few CWRU broadcast reruns as well, and I couldn't really see any difference from before, much less any improvement.

I guess there was one pre-game interview with Coach Debaljak, but that's about the only real "improvement," if that even counts.

I hope that the schools are at least seeing some additional money/athletic revenue from this, if nothing else.

Weren't you aware that for many seasons, including the past season, football video replays were posted on the football website 2 or 3 days after the game? They always include the pre-game coaches interview.

Athletic revenue is almost as good as money. ala Yogi

One big change that I saw from Flo the past year was commentary for most of the wrestling matches. There was video of one or two indoor track meets, but no commentary, so what was the point. However CWRU hosted the UAA Outdoor T&F Championships and produced very good coverage of the event. That was no small feat.

Some volleyball matches did have commentary, I suppose of days when Jantz didn't have two bb games to broadcast the same day.

This past season, baseball featured a CF camera and another sideline one, but I believe those were added for the 2024 regional which CWRU hosted. Baseball also utilized Trackman for broadcasts last season.

Overall, video quality was upped from 720 previous years, to 1080 for all sports.

No doubt 2026-27 will see othher broadcast upgrades as well.
