From now until the end of play on Sunday, November 9, the NCAA DIII Men's Soccer Committee is releasing daily NPI summary reports with updated numbers.  This is because we are now in the final 2 weeks of the regular season.

This NPI report covers games through Saturday,November 1, 2025.

The report is located at http://stats.ncaa.org/selection_rankings/nitty_gritties/46552

Here is how the UAA men's soccer teams are ranked nationally by NPI as of this updated run of the numbers--

1.) U.Chicago (#6 nationally in NPI)-- 59.037
2.) Emory (#8 nationally in NPI)-- 59.034
3.) Wash U (#13 nationally in NPI)-- 57.992
4.) Brandeis (#15 nationally in NPI)-- 57.958

6.) Carnegie Mellon (#58 nationally in NPI)-- 55.019
7.) CWRU (#68 nationally in NPI)-- 54.713

7 of the 8 UAA men's soccer teams currently carry a quality win bonus,as their NPI values are above 54.

Quote from: kansas hokie on November 01, 2025, 08:11:45 PMRochester win over CMU moves them up to NPI of 55.59...not enough for at-large, they need a result against Emory and a tie might not be enough. Right now a tie would get them to 55.79, right on the bubble.

I cannot remember the last time a potential UAA co-champion needed the AQ to get to the postseason, that the AQ actually mattered, but...

If Chicago draws today and draws next week, Rochester will hold the tiebreaker for the AQ in the event of a win over Emory and a three-way tie, IIRC.

If Chicago loses today and draws next week, Rochester will hold the tiebreaker over Washington University if they can defeat Emory and force the two-way tie.

Emory vs. Case Western:  16th game for Case and senior day.  Case Western had chances they couldn't convert against a good Emory team. Emory 1, Case 0.

Case Coach shakes up defensive minutes again.  Benches Senior Back Washington for last 10 minutes of SENIOR day.  Plays new defender for 20 minutes, even though he had only seen a total of 49 minutes in 2 years.  Plays offensive minded left back Trosh spot minutes at center back at end.  Not a shock that Case Western gives up another goal on a corner kick missed defensive assignment.  Of course, if no goals are scored you cannot win.

This kind of shuffling should happen during preseason or the season's start, not in a must win game against a top conference foe. It seems as though Case coaching staff is searching for goal scoring by shuffling the defense and sitting back, which makes no sense.

Next year looks bright for Case as long as key players don't quit or leave and if they find a decent replacement of their great senior keeper Winter. I suspect many of their best players would get snatched up quickly by other teams if they wanted to leave; the talent is there. Of course, even if the good players return, they can't help if they are not played or if their psyche is destroyed by the kind of shenanigans that happened the last two years.

The FloCollege feed is accidentally listing the record of the Brandeis women's soccer team in the preview graphics of the Brandeis at UChicago men's soccer match.   The UChicago men's soccer team record is listed correctly.

I expect that Jonah White will be doing play by play of today's men's soccer match from the Stagg Turf Field.

Brandeis v UChicago is underway, and Jonah White, who did the Brandeis home games play by play for many previous seasons when he was a student at Brandeis, is now doing the UChicago men's soccer play by play this season, as he moved over the summer from the Boston area to Chicago to pursue graduate studies at Northwestern University.

Jonah White also did play by play in previous seasons for MIT soccer as well.

Interesting post...I am very interested in this as my son will be playing for Case next year as a 1st year. He definitely plays a position of need so hopefully will get some time as 2 of the top 3 in his position group are graduating. The other one will be a junior next year but had a strange season this year. Started and played about 75 minutes a game for the first 10-11 games, then moved to the bench and only played 20 minutes or so after that.

I've wondered about that...did something happen or was the coach just trying to find some scoring so mixed it up? One of the their primary midfielders early in the season suddenly disappeared (Rossen), don't know if he was injured or if something else was going on, I'm not close enough to the program to know.

Anyone have any insights?
