Domination by UChicago and embarrassing home cooking for CWRU. The handball PK not given in the first half and the phantom PK given in the second. A three to one advantage in tricky track fouls called. Sounds about right.

Heard from an inside source at the Case Western game, walked past the Chicago huddle at the end of the game, seemed like there was some heavy turmoil within the team. Players, coaches, all arguing with each other sounds like the maroons have some problems to work out. Two losses in a row? Seems like this is a turning point for the maroons, and NOT a good one.

Good job by CWRU to win over Top Ten Chicago on the road!

With that one under our belt, we should be set for a run at the UAA title.

Any guesses as to where we will be ranked in the next set of polls?

Wasn't Case playing at home?

Yes, it was at home (Case).

Ah, my mistake!

Thought it was on the road.

I stand corrected.

As of this morning (Sunday, 18th), using the NPI simulator on this site, the UAA currently has the following teams IN the tourney...

CWRU- AQ at #4 overall
Chicago- at large at 16
Emory- at large at 18
WashU- at large at 29
CMU- at large at 31

Missing the cut and not really close to making it is...
NYU at 62
Brandeis at 117
Rochester at 123

NYU maybe if they pick up some wins can get close, but the others are out.

Emory is currently in 1st place in the UAA with CWRU a half game behind. Big games coming...

Updating with official NPI numbers from 10/18...minor adjustments from what I posted Sunday.

CWRU- 4
Chicago- 17
Emory- 18
WashU- 28
CMU- 31
_________
NYU- 62
Brandeis- 118
Rochester- 123

It's double-header weekend in the UAA. Could go a long way in determining post-season spots.

VASoccerDad

Some interesting results tonight...

Rochester beats WashU 2-1
Case beats Brandeis 2-0
CMU beats NYU 1-0
and Chicago drills Emory 6-0

Maybe Chicago has turned things around? And good win by Rochester. Case and CMU were expected.

Probably the worst call I have ever seen in St. Louis led to a Rochester penalty kick.

I am not sure why the Bears prefer to let the play begin with the back line, especially with 10 minutes left and a tie game.

I probably emphasize possession a bit too much, but I think the Bears have outplayed the opposing team in every single game this season.  They are 9-3-2.

DagarmanSpartan

Ugh.  Tie.  Shutout streak broken.

I hope we win our last games.

You sound upset, I was following the live stats, game tying goal with 14 seconds left!  Sounds like an exciting finish to still stay unbeaten.

NYU is possibly a top 3-4 team in the UAA despite their record. They were TOUGH, big strong and physical. Not the most technically gifted side, but tough. Of course it helps when one of NYU's center backs is a 26 year old former German professional.

UChicago under Babst, Flinn and Sitch valued building from the back and were very possession oriented in their philosophies. Things can go wrong, but if you trust your defenders and CMFs to make good decisions, it is very effective. This was also born out of necessity, as 90 percent of teams UChicago faced during that era bunkered down and put 11 behind the ball all game.
