Well at least Rowan women with huge 2-1 win over #1 Messiah

Big week for Rowan as they face NJAC leader Stockton Wednesday night followed by Montclair St. Saturday night, both at home.  They will need some points after earning only 1 point during the last 2 conference games or risk missing the NJAC post season with only 3 games remaining after this week.

Looks like the current top 6 are in the postseason with a William Patterson tiebreak vs 7th place Kean.  Wednesday games will be for seeds including first round byes and home field.

Montclair State Earns Top Seed; NJAC Men's Soccer Bracket Released

PITMAN, NJ — The field is set for the 2025 NJAC Men's Soccer Championship, with quarterfinal action beginning Saturday, November 1.

The first round features third-seeded Rowan hosting sixth-seeded William Paterson, and fourth-seeded TCNJ hosting fifth-seeded Rutgers–Camden.

Semifinal play is set for Wednesday, November 5, as the 3/6 winner travels to second-seeded Stockton and the 4/5 winner heads to top-seeded Montclair State.

The NJAC Championship match will take place on Saturday, November 8, hosted by the highest remaining seed. The winner earns the conference's automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Electronic tickets will go on sale later tonight. No cash will be accepted at any venue.

TCNJ up 3-0 on Montclair State in the 70th minute.  That would be a pretty big upset and could leave Montclair State out of the NCAA tournament given that its NPI rank of 35 before this game was already close to the cut line.

UPDATE:  TCNJ 3 - Montclair St 1 in the 73rd minute

UPDATE:  TCNJ 4 - Montclair State 1

This game is nuts.  TCNJ answers 38 seconds with another goal of its own

FINAL:  TCNJ 4 - Montclair State 1

This may have ended Montclair's season.

Rowan advances to the final in a 1-0 victory away at Stockton.  The lone goal came in the 59th minute off a through ball to a Rowan winger who slotted through the keeper's legs.  Run of play for the entire game looked fairly equal with maybe a slight edge to the home side.  And I think the keeper was unlucky and would want that shot back.

Nevertheless based on the result above Rowan will be playing TCNJ in Glassboro on Saturday for the league championship.  Stockton finished as a runner up in the NJAC regular season and 10-5-5 overall.

Think Montclair is done, falls down in NPI to 40/41 range tonight. Needs a lot to go right to move back up to at-large bid.

Was stunned how effective TCNJ was... and how lacking Montclair was.  How far they have fallen.

Liking the Rowan/TCNJ match up.  Should be a fun one.

Chris Meder with all 4 goals for TCNJ....

Astounding Steve at TCNJ didn't get Coach of the Year. What a turn around!!

Congratulations to the Rowan Profs for winning the 2025 NJAC Championship 1-0 on a first half goal by Evan Schlotterbeck.

As part of the process of merging New Jersey City University into Kean University, the NJCU men's soccer team, which finished last in the NJAC in 2025 with a 1-6-2 record in conference and a 4-11-4 record overall, will cease to exist.  The NJCU campus men's soccer players will be eligible to try out for the Kean men's soccer team and Kean will be permitted to have an expanded roster to accommodate players from NJCU.

Quote34. Which sports will require tryouts to compete at Kean?
Tryouts will be held for the following Kean NCAA teams:

    Men's and Women's Soccer
    Men's and Women's Volleyball
    Women's Basketball
    Baseball
    Softball

Rosters for these teams will be expanded to accommodate additional student-athletes from NJCU.

Student-athletes on the Jersey City campus may also try out for sports not currently offered by NJCU, including Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Golf, Football, Flag Football, Women's Tennis and Women's Swimming.

Although that removes one member school of the NJAC for men's soccer, the conference has already replaced them with SUNY New Paltz, which is becoming a full member of the NJAC in 2026-27.

That stinks for the athletes, I think they were expecting to have a cake walk as Jersey City was supposed to be headed to the CUNYAC next year. So it was expected they would be gone, just not in this way.
