St Joseph's (Brkln) (1-12-1) beat Yeshiva 4-1 for their first win of the year.

Pratt (0-11-2) almost got their first win but Centenary (NJ) scored the equalizer with under 4 minutes left to tie 2-2.

Muhlenberg (8-0-8) and Haverford (9-0-8) unsurprisingly tied 0-0

And Dickinson tied Hopkins, so you still have 3 undefeated teams in the Centennial

Dickinson 10-0-6; 4-0-3
Muhlenberg 8-0-8; 3-0-4
Haverford 9-0-8; 2-0-5

Loss of OT is so bad imo. Just give teams a chance to win outright.

Getting rid of OT has allowed teams to more effectively play for the tie, but ties are up pretty significantly this year in the Centennial and some other conferences even though OT didn't exist in 2024 either.  All the reasons that the top teams are not as dominant as they were last year contribute to more ties.  The gap is simply smaller between teams.

Maybe so, maybe 4 pts for a win and still 1 for a tie?? Pretty sure that I'm the first as to this.

That would help in conference and with the AQ, but I think the motivation for ties comes more from the NPI than in conference.  The Men's Soccer Competition Committee was so focused on strength of schedule that it gives a team more credit for a tie against a strong team than a win against a middling team.  It's probably a little easier for a less skilled team to get a tie against a stronger team by playing a low block than it is for a less skilled team to get a win against a middling team, so a lot of teams have moved to a more cynical style of play.

Wheaton (MA) has played from behind most of the game to Coast Guard, but just equalized 1-1 in the 85th minute and look like they may avoid falling from the yet to lose list.

FINAL:  Wheaton 1 - Coast Guard 1

Johns Hopkins knocks off Muhlenberg 1-0 and the Mules fall from the ranks of the unbeaten

Kenyon beat Wooster 4-0 and Wooster is no longer unbeaten.

Interestingly, in the old system, this kind of loss might significantly hurt Wooster in the eyes of the Tournament Committee if it didn't win the NCAC's AQ.  Under the NPI, however, it's just a loss since goal differential and late season play doesn't factor into the rankings.

I'm sure not everyone listens to the SC podcast, but this week we talked about Haverford who currently sit at 9-0-9. If they draw this weekend with Swarthmore, they'll finish the year undefeated at 9-0-10 and there's a good chance they'll miss the Centennial playoffs and their season will be over.

Wouldn't they have the tie-breaker over McDaniel in that case since Haverford beat McDaniel?
