Quote from: olepoops on October 15, 2026, 12:45:17 PMUW-Superior is the top UMAC team and has taken on good WIAC teams (tied Eau Claire) and a host of MIAC teams, so this result is perhaps not a huge surprise.

#4 Rowan ties #13 Montclair, albeit a come from behind tie late, against a good team.
#8 W&L loses to Randolph Macon
Yesterday #5 St. Olaf tied Wisconsin-Superior

I would have picked none of these results the day before.

Which is why I am terrible at picking results.  The only one that I give a little grace to is Rowan.  Montclair is really coming into it's own and has been playing well.  But St. Olaf?  W&L?

SC.

Superior's best win is against the 180th ranked team on Massey. There are few easy games, but it's definitely more than a little surprise.

In a battle of ranked UAA teams on the Midway...........CWRU just took down Chicago.

GO SPARTANS!!!
CWRU Grad, Class of 1994, big D3 sports fan of that school.  Also a fan of Yeshiva U at the D3 level.  Fan of Houston and Illinois at the D1-FBS level.

Scranton with 5 consecutive 1-0 league wins.  Opponents probably going out of their minds playing them.

The buzzer in this case was metaphorical--making it very difficult for the ref to determine if the ball crossed the line before time expired. This got me thinking that most college games I have attended (across all divisions) don't seem to have an actual buzzer when the clock hits zero. Am I imagining this?

Most places the PA announcer counts down the final 10 seconds each half. Does anyone know the actual rule about having or not having an actual buzzer sound . . . eh, at the buzzer?

College Soccer Observer

There needs to be a signal, which is either a horn/buzzer, or the timekeeper saying zero in the countdown.

Some games today, Wednesday 10/28, that caught my eye:

Babson @ Wheaton 3 pm eastern

Babson is tied at the top of the NEWMAC with MIT, but has a game in hand.  Wheaton is 3 points behind both of them.  Both Babson and Wheaton have a game remaining after this one, neither of which is a complete gimme (Babson v. Coast Guard and Wheaton v. Springfield), but games where they will each be the favorite.

Stockton @ TCNJ 6 pm easterm

TCNJ is in 3rd place in the NJAC. It could jump over Rowan to 2nd if it wins and Rowan loses or ties to Rutgers-Camden, but that seems unlikely.  Bigger stakes for TCNJ may be finishing the season undefeated.  Stockton can play spoiler.  It fell flat in a 6-0 loss to New Paltz on Saturday, but lost 2-1 to Rowan in the mid-week game and only lost 2-1 to Montclair State earlier this month.  They also beat TCNJ 3-0 last season.

St. Francis (PA) v. Franciscan 5 pm eastern

Last chance for St. Francis to get a win.  They tied Thiel 0-0 on Saturday to garner their first point of the season, so they have to be feeling good about themselves after a game for a change.

I know this doesn't pertain to d3 and has been discussed in this forum previously, but nytimes.com posted this (about d1 becoming a fall-and-spring competition):
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7726710/2026/10/27/college-soccer-calendar-change-ncaa-opposition-vote/.
Preliminary approval to move forward subject to a recission vote ending next week, including by institutions w/o soccer.

Game finishes 1-1. Babson's leading scorer also picked up his 5th yellow card in the game so he will be out for the finale against Coast Guard. Could have major implications to say the least.

The longest streak of consecutive winning seasons in D3 men's soccer has come to an end. Ohio Wesleyan registered a losing campaign this season, ending a run of 57 straight winning seasons for the Battling Bishops that began all the way back in 1970.

The new king of the hill for longest current streak of winning seasons is Messiah, which is now up to 46 straight positive ledgers.

The other lengthy streaks in D3 men's soccer belong to Amherst (30 seasons) and North Park (26 seasons), although, when UW-Oshkosh returns to the pitch next season a dozen years after the program was discontinued, the Titans will pick up where they left off in 2015 in terms of their streak of 31 consecutive winning seasons.

Unless I missed something in my review of the records on their website, Trinity(TX) hasn't had a losing season since 1994, a streak of 32 seasons including the current one.

Here is my link of the AQ/Conference Tournament tracker for those that like keeping track of all the conference tournaments.

That may very well be. The NCAA didn't include North Park on the list as it currently exists in the D3 men's soccer record book, and Trinity (TX) may also be a victim of the NCAA's oversight. North Park 's SID is going to contact the NCAA to correct the error when he gets a free moment, and I suggest that you or some other Tigers fan contact the Trinity (TX) SID and urge him or her to do the same.

Thanks for the stat pull. That's quite the fall from grace for OWU. Wouldn't have expected that with the coaching continuity change they had.

On the Messiah streak, looks like their last losing season was 1976. Looks like it's actually been 48 seasons (not counting 2020) and 2026 will push it to 49 seasons. 2025 (+5 losses from .500) was the closest they had been to that number since 1984.
