We had a couple predict 3-1, and one predict 4-2. But no 4-1s.

Any thought of replacing Gettysburg v. WC with Hop v. Ursinus.  Hop v. Ursinus could decide whether Hop wins the conf. Ursinus could also win the conf. with a win and a Dickinson lose. FYI Dick plays the Muhls which crushed Hop last week.

Gettys v. WC means nothing and will probably be a bunch of seniors playing just a fun game. Both teams are eliminated.

Swat v. Ford makes perfect sense since it is a big rivalry, plus both have the same number of points and have made the conf. tournament.

SKUD

Don't change a thing! EJay da man!

We actually discussed this on the podcast. Give it a listen, SC could use the eyeballs :-)

SierraFD3soccer

Yeah, haven't had the opportunity yet.

Just saying, that the Gettysburg v. WC will be a senior day for the home team and for both basically a pre-season game. Empty the benches along with getting that senior keeper who had no time or very little time this year (or throughout his career) in goal. Crappiest soccer all year most likely with absolutely nothing to play for. FYI, F&M v. McDaniel could absolutely be the same as all 4 have been eliminated.

Are you all going to be picking scrimmages next year too? Asking for a friend, obv.

SKUD

GBURG-WC playing their last game and for pride only is more fun to pick then the brainiacs vs the pennsytuckies

SierraFD3soccer

The Bullets v. Shoreman, good point.

How about this charactization = (Sorry Hop92 and the other Hop)

Ivy light blueblood overrated very large college (5500 undergraduate body size) right around where The Wire depicted v. working class/lower middleclass backwater school (1400-1500 undergrad) as a better way of looking at it. Ursinus is a true D3 school which is more than 3 times smaller. How many would have even heard of Ursinus but for the Cent. Conf or grew up in PA. Also they have never won the conf. and actually have a chance.

A lot more interest in that dynamic than Bullets v. Shoreman in my opinion.

Also Ursinus was picked dead last in the pre-season coaches poll while Hop was picked second. Ursinus was picked almost every year 9th or 10th.

According to the game report from Ursinus' win on Saturday, this is the first time the school has qualified for the Centennial conference tournament in program history.

It looks like Ursinus joined the conference in 1981 for football and in 1992 when it became an all sports conference, so that's a crazy long time to go without ever making the conference tournament!

Ejay

IMO, Hop/Ursinus is a much easier game to pick than Gburg/Wash.

Hopkins92

Jesus, I'm taking strays on this board today. :-)

Not sure I understand the "over-rated" depiction, but I also have thick skin and a diploma that opened a lot of doors... All good.

I would add to the Hop-Bears dynamic that Ursinus, even in down years, has Pipp'd Hopkins in weird 1-0 games. Especially at their field.

I don't feel great about Saturday.

Hopkins92

Also, if the over-rated comment is specific to soccer... I think their results (just like the Dips) speak for themselves. We've covered this ground in the Mid-Atlantic thread. They are what they are... Close to Elite 8 or Sweet 16 most years, but have also bounced out prematurely.

They are what they are playing the system they employ.
