New NPI rankings out today: through games 10/21/2026

Rowan takes over #1 from Wash U!

#166
NYU (#33 NPI, #22 USC) upset Carnegie Mellon (#14 NPI, #9 USC) at home yesterday 2-0.  Really nice win for NYU.

With a 5-2-5 overall record, NYU is sitting in third in the UAA as of today!  They are ahead of Emory, Carnegie Mellon, and Case Western in the conference. Although tomorrow's games may shake that up some more.

Huge upset today in Tennesee where unranked Maryville College (now 6-4-4, 3-3-0 SAA) upsets formerly unbeaten (#7 NPI) Trinity(TX) (12-1-1/4-1-1) 1-0 in a match where the home side was outshot 28-5, 14-3 on goal.  The Scots' Ruby Saylor hit the game winner, her only shot of the day, in the 20th minute and keeper Paige Silva stopped all 14 shots she faced.

Saylor's goal was not only the first one scored today, but the first of the freshman's college career.

Emory just tied Wash U 1-1 with 13 minutes left in the game on a penalty kick that was taken by Emory's Goalkeeper!

Here is the most recent NCAA NPI rankings: through games 10/25/26

There has definitely been some movement in the top 5!

Rowan holds onto the #1 spot, but with Wash U tying Emory they drop from #2 down to #4.  Wash & Lee and North Central (IL) both slide up a spot to #2 and #3 respectively.  Chicago jumps Tufts and goes to #5 with Tufts falling out the top 5 to #6.

A couple of big moves today in the NPI top 25:

Trinity (TX) with their upset loss on the road drop from #8 to #16.

NYU with two road wins in the UAA over the weekend see themselves move from #33 all the way up to #17.

Lynchburg with their 2-1 win on the road against Bridgwater (VA) move up from #28 to #18 to become the third team from the ODAC in the top 25.

The only team that has a chance of finishing ahead of Washington University is Tufts.  The worst team in the UAA would be the third best in the CCIW.

Well...

Looks like the daily updates to the NCAA NPI rankings have started: through games 10/26/2026

With very few games yesterday (Monday 10/26) the top 25 barely moved at all.  The first change happens at NPI #18/#19 with MIT moving up from 19 to 18 and Lynchburg moving down from 18 to 19.
