Incident at York College: https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/york-womens-lacrosse-players-attacked-150408640.html

I know this didn't involve the women's soccer team, but I would think an incident like this has to impact all of the women's sports teams at York.  I'm guessing soccer coach Kelly Wakeman had a discussion with her team this past week about keeping safe.  York played their first home game after this incident happened two nights ago on Wednesday where they won against Dickinson 1-0.

It came down to the last games of the year to determine who would finish at the top of the MAC-Commonwealth conference.

York and Messiah were tied for the #1 spot with a 6-0-1 record in the conference coming into yesterday.  Their meeting a little over a week ago at Messiah would end in a 0-0 draw.

So in the final game of the regular season York would host Widener (sitting in 4th place in the conference) at 3pm and play to a 0-0 draw.  That would leave the door open for Messiah who was hosting the #3 team in the conference - Eastern with a 5pm start.

The Eagles would frustrate the Falcons during the first half with their senior goalkeeper Faith Leake making 9 saves to keep the game tied 0-0.  However, the falcons would break through in the first four minutes of the second half with a goal by senior Mia Libby (on senior day no less) and would be able to go on and win the game 3-0.

Messiah will be able to host through the conference championships and will get started on Wednesday against the winner of the play-in-game between #5 Albright at #4 Widener.  Second seed York will also play Wednesday and will host #3 Eastern.  York beat Eastern 2-1 during their regular season conference matchup at Eastern back on October 6th.

#2
Messiah (NPI #23) defeats York (NPI #36) in the MAC Commonwealth Conference Championship 2-0 to win their eighth straight conference title.  That is now a new program record for Messiah Women's Soccer.  In the past they had won six straight and seven straight conference championships but now they are sitting on eight straight.
