Wilkes scores 1:08 into the game, then proceeds to thump Goucher 3-0 for their first win of the season.

The lists are shrinking, but some of the Yet to Win teams are running out of games to get that first win

St. Francis (PA) was until this year D1 to include its soccer team. They were a middle to lower tier D1 soccer team. They went from a .500 D1 team to 0-11 in D3. It is deep in farm country sometimes called Pennsyltucky.

Looking at the 2026 roster which now has only 14 (1 gk) with one or 2 seniors and the rest freshmen. Goals scored 5 while giving up 62. The gk has 84 saves. Corners 11 for SF and 118 for the opponents.

2025 they had 28 or so players with plenty of guys from overseas. Also SF did not hire a head coach till late March this year who has some Mount Union connections (SC?)

More than just dropping from D1. Rather not even having a program in 2025.

SFU is struggling in football as well.  The drop from D1 meant that most of their top scholarship jocks in every sport left, forcing them to build new D3 programs pretty much from scratch overnight.

It'll take a few years to make that transition.
CWRU Grad, Class of 1994, big D3 sports fan of that school.  Also a fan of Yeshiva U at the D3 level.  Fan of Houston and Illinois at the D1-FBS level.

SKUD

The school will be gone before they become good at division three

Yeah, what SKUD said.

We haven't had a "state of D3 school economics" discussion in a while. All the reporting I've seen is painting a very bleak picture: demographics and the overall cost of a 4-year education are making it extremely difficult for these small schools to stay afloat.

Yup, super, super bleak.  All the chickens are coming home to roost right now and not enough colleges to figure out things to survive, imo. Don't know what motivated St. Francis (Pa) to ever go D1 with only about 2500 students (apparently only 40% male). Obv. a huge mistake. However, according to the interwebs it went D1 in 1981 when ob. things were different to say the least.

Also did not want to bring up the football team.

Marantha Baptist missed one of their last remaining chances to get a win, losing to previously 2-13 Northwestern (MN) by a 1-0 score on a 68th minute goal.
