As with Jackson Teer from TUTx and the portal in 2024, one wonders about the surprises in Region X from the portal.
Congrats to Scott Winterburn at La Verne on Region X COTY. My choice was Josh Lee at McM for sweeping its Regional in only his 3rd season as Head Coach. He went from 14-26 & a last place 8-19 in the 2023 ASC standings to 35-13 & 22-8 and 3rd place in the SCAC.

All-Region teams are nominated & voted by the SIDs. That is the 1st thing I consider.

I prefer All-Star teams that look like a line-up, 8 position players a DH, and a utility. I want 4-5 starting pitchers and 1 reliever. If the majority of teams are also using a set-up reliever in most games, then okay.

May 27, 2025, 09:51:51 AMQuote from: cubs on May 25, 2025, 10:14:42 PMSeeding/Pools for the World Series have been announced:
Pool #1
#1-Johns Hopkins #1
#4-Endicott #4
#5-Kean #8
#8-Messiah #48
Pool #2
#2-Denison #2
#3-Whitewater #3
#6-Trinity #9
#7-Rowan #12
NPI at the end of the season is in italics.
Rowan defeated #5 Lynchburg.
#6 La Verne went 0-2 in the Regionals, losing to #41 McMurry (who lost to Trinity) and #33 Pomona-Pitzer
Messiah knocked off #7 Salisbury.
The NPI was very instructive over a 40-game season.

Trinity does what it's done all season - hope the starter can keep things close for the first few innings, then turn the game over to the bullpen until the hitters figure things out.

Go Region X. CMS did better in game #2 versus Endicott but the NPI seems to be holding true-to-form. Rowan over Lynchburg makes sense since I believe that the NJAC is a much tougher conference. Rowan and Kean and the other 3 play-off teams from the NJAC are more battle tested.
Messiah is the real Cinderella. Let's see how they do. Unless something really unusual happens, and Messiah wins one game in East Lake, then Phill Sallenberger is my National Coach of the Year. Josh Lee is my Region X Coach of the Year. TUTx's Coach Scannell getting his second ring would deserve consideration nationally.
(When TUTx defects to the SAA, can we still consider them Region X? Maybe give them Ambassadorial status...)

Nice run by McMurry. They trailed 4-3 going into the 7th, then TUTx ran away with 1 in the 7th, 2 in the 8th and 3 in the 9th to win 10-4.
Good luck to TU. I hope that the postseason for you to this point will send you prepared to bring the Walnut and Bronze back to Region 10.

Sorry that CMS could not force a 3rd games against Endicott!
I am glad that the NCAA allowed the Trinity McMurry games to be moved back.
(I am not getting either video or LiveStats from Trinity. I do not see rain on the radar since noon.)
The game may not start until 4:00 PM CDT, not EDT. I clicked on the "8PM game" to get LiveStats.

Considering the outcomes of the 1st of the super-regionals by the NPI's, there is a high probability #9 Trinity should beat #41 McMurry by 5 runs. Only Messiah confounded the model with their upset of Salisbury.

Cootway with a "bat flip warning" after hitting a two out 3-run HR in the second inning. Why do you need to flip a bat? The slow jog around the bases is enough to rub it in.
Just a thought, what if you sprinted around the basepaths and slid into home plate?
Would that get warning?

McMurry was competitive versus TUTX this season (losing 5-1, 5-2, and 6-5, giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th, so McM fans can be optimistic.
I want 2 Region X teams in the Championship!
