you know, what with the methane and such. that reminds me of that scene in "better off dead" where that kid's mother was smoking at the dinner table and thought she was drinking wine but it was kerosene or some other such flammable liquid and then the next day, the guy was like, "I am sorry your mom blew up the other night."

I once helped rescue Skoaltrain from the chitter on campus at BC. He may have been locked in but atleast he had his pen light and cell phone. Thank goodness for technology!
good thing it was a pen light and not a lighter; that could have gotten a little hairy.

i almost forgot...where's the love for "waterboy"? that bobby bouche could play.
not only was that movie pure cinematic gold for foosball fans but it also has to be in the top five of all-time movies with the word "water" in the title.

For football trilogy I would have "North Dallas Forty", "Varsity Blues" and "Rudy"
speaking of Varsity Blues, when i was in law school in richmond, i was there when they filmed the episode of dawson's creek in which they looked at colleges. i stood no more than ten feet from crazy eyes van der beek or whatever his name was and a young, uncorrupted katie holmes. that was pre-scientology of course.

My "guy" trilogy: Dumb and Dumber, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Jerk. Put a cooler next to the sofa, eat chips right out of a two pound bag and laugh 'til you cry.
My bid is "Young Frankenstein", "What About Bob?", and "Caddyshack".
"Look at those knockers"
how's about a football trilogy: as per myself, i would have to say "wildcats" (bonus points for a young goldie hawn nekkid), "the best of times" and "north dallas forty" with the episode of little house on the prairie that they throw little willie for a touchdown garnering honorable mention status

it is a little known fact that w&l was founded by george and Robert E. so that their male offspring would have a safe fallback school after they couldn't get into h-sc.
as for bc; well, do you think janitors grow on trees. they have to go to school somewhere.

October 31, 2005, 05:03:27 PMGood news for all BC fans/students: I just heard through the grapevine that the BC computer lab just got a shipment of Hooked on Phonics tapes. However, even without the tapes, all BC fans can spell "quite", as in: We at Bridgewater do real good at making it to the d3 playoffs, but we can't "quite" seem to do anything when we get there.
And before you bc apologists mention it, I am aware that you came in second a couple of years ago. However, in the words of a famous ex-coach, "Second place is first loser." Good luck in the playoffs.

perhaps you bc fans could learn a thing or two from e h dad and learn to look at things philosophically. for instance, after you lose to the superior football team--not to mention the more culturally advanced--you can bask in the thoughts of being home for thanksgiving instead of losing yet another postseason football game. rather than participating in yet another postseason exercise in futility, you can try to score some tickets to salem to see the real football school in the odac bring back a championship.

however, maybe that is what the odac needs. bc has had its time in the sun and has shown they can't get it done. let's let a real school have a shot and see what they can do.

McDaniel: 52-16 (3 NCAA playoff & 2 ECAC playoff appearances)
Guilford: 15-49 (no post-season appearances)
Their records this year:
McDaniel: 3-0
Guilford: 0-4
to comment on past records and try to compare them to the current season is irrelevant in all levels of sports, but especially on the d3 level where you can have huge amounts of player turnover from week to week much less on a yearly basis. McDaniel may have had good teams in the past and perhaps Guilford might not have been so strong but that has absolutely no bearing on the quality of the team put on the field this year.
however, let the bc faithful talk their talk this week. from the number of posts on the site from the bc juggernaut and the dearth from anywhere else, i reckon that the page is going to be empty after saturday. but perhaps these same people can board on the tiger bandwagon--we'll forgive your ignorance and gladly let you on.

Just want to make one point that comes up every week from somebody:
scheduling - it is done in ADVANCE, YEARS IN ADVANCE (sometimes up to 4 years in advance).
It is inevitable when a team or fans of a team has nothing to rip on a team about that they will turn to that team's scheduling. Seeing as bilgewater has already laid their egg (which is nice that they did it in the early season rather than wait for the postseason--that way fans don't have to get their expectations up), their fans feel it is necessary to snipe at h-sc. our schedule may be weaker than yours but 10-0 sure looks better than 9-1. (not that i am saying that either team will wind up with such records but that is the best that either team can finish)
it is nice that there is a rivalry brewing with the eagles but i must stress "brewing" since, according to the h-sc media guide, our all-time record is 50-11 against bc. you guys had your seasons in the sun while we were getting over the lean years following jobu but it looks like h-sc might just be building something. it takes awhile to get over the hill but once you have crested it, watch the snowball grow. hopefully this is the year we crest the hill.

Miz-
Dropped passes, penalties, missed tackles, missed extra points, fumbles, and blown assignments on the part of a bunch of different players all have contributed to the losses.
Not to mention horrible officiating that gave the game to bilgewater.
