I will be attending the Berg Mount game on the 18th. My daughters friend chose Berg over Mount and I am meeting up with her. I told her every time Mount scores i am calling her out by name. I hope Mount puts up 70....oh and I am excited to see Bergs stadium. Never been there

I am at the Mount game. Mount D is being out physicalled by Ott and they cant tackle to save their life. Ott is down only because their O cant execute. Mount is sloppy. Sorry Raiders but they look sloppy... 

The NCC Wheaton game interests me. How Wheaton matches up will tell me more about where Mount is right now. I will also get to See the Purples i. Action tomorrow for the first time this season. Roll Raiders ~ Roll!!

My jury is still out on Dartt and this years Purples. Sure - 3 wins is great to start the year. But they have looked good  - but not great, and have at times looked sloppy and unprepared. Time will tell but Dartt needs a ring to quiet most of the Mounties.

I never understood being flat and not prepared when you had an extra week.

2024:  52-14 win in Berea.  Over at half (42-14).

2023:  41-17 win at home.  Had it about wrapped up at half, but gave up a 42 yd TD pass on the final play (24-10).

2022:  23-21 win in Berea.  The hail Mary prayer answered.  I forgot Mount had a complete implosion in the 4th qtr giving up a 17-0 lead.  I must have suppressed that painful memory.

2021:  31-7 win at home.  Final score was a bit deceiving.  It was a 14-7 game deep into the 3rd qtr.

2020:  Cancelled.  I don't remember that Covid season, but this was the only game that didn't get played.

2019:  45-7 win at home.  Over at half (24-0). 

I celebrate as well!   I may actually head over to Berea if I have a few minutes.

To set the record straight - Pentello's kid was 24/25 in '06. Rocky was 44, full time employed at Cap in the Physical Plant, and working on a degree in Education when he discovered he had eligibility remaining from the Reagan administration. After 9 redshirt years, and an extension, he finally used his last remaining eligibility in 2019. Almost made it to a COVID year 😁

And yet - 1 and 0 against OH this year. Buckeye people are funny. When they beat Michigan (finally) after years of disappointment (i.e. John Cooper) then "its the greatest victory ever". They win it a few times and suddenly "its not a rivalry since we own you". Now they cant buy a win for $20 million and "it doesnt even matter since we are in the playoffs". Ok keep telling yourself that. Except the footage of your loyal bucknuts booing your beloved scarlet and gray the entire 2nd half at the shoe as you fail to beat a rather sad UM team (we had a bad year) will live on in the ears of the internet forever and tells a different story. I have the same concerns. The D has the talent and the horses - just like the O - its going to come down to fundamentals, scheme, and adjustments (the 3 the Steak guys didnt mention).
Mount has to tackle well in open field and avoid the ball chopping (running with the guy for 20 yards while trying to strip the ball). The scheme has to decide what we will not let NCC do (a tip of the hat to Gagliardi in 2004), and we have to make them adjust their game to our intensity.

After watching the Raider highlights from the semis - I do hope Mr Claus brought them "How to make open field tackles". Its a wonderful read. I saw countless missed tackles in the secondary, bad angles, and a complete lack of appreciation for physics. When their TE is 6-2 and 250 (whatever he was he was big) and you are a 5-9 200lb DB - unless your name is Steve Atwater - you dont take him on at the shoulder pads. I just saw a lack of fundamentals. The O looked better with Deshields than it has with Beaudrie but the D gave up a lot of points to a weak offense. We need to get back to the key philosophy at Mount - block, tackle, catch (or was it run, pass, stance? Footwork, form, pursuit? Ham, cheese, bread?) Whatever the Steak guys said - we have to get back to basics or this will be a bad look (having nightmares of the UWW run-away train game). Roll Raiders ~ Roll!
