BW played with great pride and dominated the line of scrimmage the first half. However, once again,Bw's secondary was simply no match for the passing offense of the Purples. We have too many fast guys, a sophisticated attack, led by Coach Collins, and super skilled players. Obviously BW got outcoached in the halftime locker rooms. Coach Dartt has blasted three good teams and put together a Championship team. We're Number One.

I saw the game. The difference in speed was such that after the first quarter, GC had given up. The body language of the players and coaches was, "OMG we're going to get 70 scored on us today." So I have a question....Can a D2 or D1 school just buy our best players? Everybody knows who No.15 and No.4 are now.

I just returned from the Mount Union game. Wow, do we have a quarterback! Poised, accurate, a bigger kid than I expected, great runner! Mount Union is so fast at RB and WR, Wheaten couldn't keep up. Good-looking offense.Think of sophomore Bill Borchart (moment of silence as we speak of The Great Number 7) but a little bigger. Raiders scattered far and wide should know the Jolly Roger was visble at first light. Good crowd on a perfect day.

Great Bowl season for Purple Raiders. Vince and Jason win a six overtime game against Pittburgh and Matt Campbell's guys beat the mighty Huricanes.

Nothing warms the heart of a former Raider more than seeing the Purples beat the stuffing out of the JCU Blue Streaks. So be it if it's the last time we play them. This settles the matter of the Hail Mary beating us at home.
DeShields can take them all the way.
A masterful performance by the coaching staff yesterday.

Do some of you really think the U.M.U.Administration will change football coaches? Quit drinking, stop using drugs, and get into see a good counselor. You need some reality therapy. Perhaps you malcontents have a suggestion as to who the new coach should be? I'd like to hear that. Any of you ever play on an undefeated team? Any of you coached a team to an undefeated record? Are a lot of you in-demand to fill coordinator positions? No?

Mount will adjust to a new quarterback. Obviously, he is a pocket passer. Mount's mantra has always been, "players, formations, plays." He's a tall quarterback with good arm. That was an excellent coaching job by the Purples staff in the second half.
Marietta played a hell of a game. I can't remember more good catches by opposing receivers.

Perfect fall day in Alliance for the big game. Marietta fans have already set up an enclave with flags flying.

The Purples have settled into the offense they will use to get to the Stagg Bowl. Mount has the two best running backs in the league, Ty and Noah, who run behind a good, experienced offensive line. They have a legit deep threat in Nick and a very good short passing game to Williams and Ty. The field goal from 51 yards bodes well, the return game is good, and we have a punter.
It's always tough on our defense to play teams with huge lines in consecutive weeks but we have a few stars on defense. I'm very optimistic.

BWC truly is cursed by God. After a beautiful drive and great throw by the Bubonics kid BWC goes up by two with two minutes to go. All they have to do is execute the extra point and kickoff and they probably win. They don't do either. The extra point is blocked and they kick off to the JCU 40. JCU drives down the field and wins with a minute to go. BWC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

I can hardly believe what I'm reading here from the Mount Union fans. Our two starting corners were hurt. JCU had a game plan that negated the pass rush in the first half but we saw a vastly improved defense in the second half. We saw vastly improved offense in the second half. All this criticism of our head coach is misplaced. 140 freshman football players decided to attend Mount Union, that's strength of program, reputation as a winner, and a chance to be part of great teams. Give this team some time, and a few games to get seasoned. I did see a first in my 50 years as a Raider, two missed extra points in a row. The BW football team is cursed by god, they'll be no problem for the Purples.

At least one prominent member of the Mount Union football family wanted to cancel the game with JCU in reaction to their leaving the OAC. Not hard to guess who that is.
JCU's quarterback played a hell of a game. JCU seemed to have more zip and purpose at the beginning of the game. Does anyone know why JCU couldn't throw on WWW? I can see why they couldn't run or stop the run at WWW, but their passing attack should work on anyone. Mount Union made him look like the OAC Offensive Player of the Year.
We must remember this is QB No.8 Noah B's second game.
Is it my imagination or is RB No.0 Tyler E. twice as fast as he was last year?

JCU will not be able to deal with the speed of the Mount Union backs and receivers and the sophistication of the passing attack. I expect you will see a lot of short passes and a robust running game. QB Noah B. is a hell of an athlete and is going to break some long gains if they let him run. The backup QB is also an excellent player and I expect to see him play. I think the Raiders come out hot and put a real pasting on JCU, who will be fortunate not to get shut out.

I watched the Mount Union JVs play Lead Acadamy Sunday. Lead had some really good players on defense. Mount's offense and QB Number 10 had a good taste of college football.

I go to practices to watch the quarterbacks and the receivers. I've seen enough of Mount Union to say that the new QB, number 8, Noah B...,is the reincarnation of The Great Number 7, Bill Borchert. (moment of silence please for the GOAT.)
I predict a 70% completion rate. The offense looks unstoppable. Speed, and skill are all over the place.
