Fetter won OPOY last year, what are you talking about..

The coaches did not like Fetter so they had him split it with Richardson. NESCAC coaches are spiteful & get butthurt when they get blown out haha.

How does it feel to lose 20 of the last 22?

Quote from: Charlie on October 30, 2024, 05:13:31 PMI think we should start to be looking at Williams as the next school to drop down the tier rankings. Since Williams championship team back in 2021 Williams has yet to knock of any of the big three. If they so happen to loose this weekend against Wesleyan. Williams football has not beat Trinity , Middlebury & Wesleyan in three years. In fact I will go a step further Bates has had more of a turn around in their program against the big three then Williams.I can honestly say that Bates this year could have had a better year had they beaten some of the teams they should have. Meanwhile Williams has yet to beat a top tier team in three years. We keep giving Coach Raymond a pass and complain about injuries and lack of depth.

I believe a HC Raymond repsonsibility is making sure they have depth , recruit well and more importantly win. At this juncture I believe that they are going backwards rather then forwards.I am curious to see what happens if this years recruiting class does not bear fruit. Williams could quickly find themselves in the bottom tier in the league fast. I feel like the only thing we have been praising the last couple years is there punter.

I think they have a good shot of picking one up this weekend. :)

Hopefully Golden Corral gives comps to the faithful

Quote from: mhoncho123 on October 23, 2024, 10:46:16 AMMr GroundandPounder,

Thank you for mentioning these points. Illegal surveillance, two way communication systems, referee interference was all the evidence I cited in my appeal. I hadn't previously considered the uniform scheme. That could explain the breach in my weather forecast modeling algorithm as well.  If I were a betting man, which I am, I would bet the under of the 57 degrees for Saturday. My modeling set the high for Saturday in Lewiston at 48 degrees, so I believe the under is a safe bet. Thank you for your support for the truth, and I hope Secretary Copeland will hear our pleas for the truth.

Unfortunately, I won't be in Lewiston this weekend. I have some government person come to my estate in the morning to attempt to adjudicate a dispute with my neighbor. Hopefully, this will be done by kickoff, so I can catch the game. I already have my reservation at Golden Corral for Kickoff (Joking, I don't have to make reservations. They keep a booth permanently reserved for me).

This gag is the best thing to happen to these boards since I have been reading them.

Quote from: mhoncho123 on October 20, 2024, 04:25:28 PMTo Whom It May Concern,

I just wanted to aggregate the statements on this board that demonstrate the least knowledge of ball.

"The more I look at the Trinity-Middlebury game from last year the more confident I am about tomorrow. " - Trin 9-0

"Midd is fighting for the lives " - Trin 9-0

"Trinity will dominate Middlebury." - lumbercat

"Not in relation to the unfortunate beatdown the Pants will incur on Saturday" - Nescacman

"this game won't be close." - Nescacman

"He won't be able to post after Saturday. Will be working overtime to pay up that panthers gamble!" - Gray Fox

"If the panthers are even money I have a farm or 3 I want to sell. Bantams by a lot." - BantChamps

Still not sure why Trinity fans have been so quiet on the board since Saturday. Might have something to do with BantChamps having his Camry repoed. Don't even want to guess the interest rate he was paying on that thing. North of 15% if I had to guess.

Yes. Working overtime.

Congrats on the win! Maybe the two teams will tie again, and the league will be pressured into reimplementing the tiebreaker rules.

I'd call that one a toss-up.

Not in relation to the unfortunate beatdown the Pants will incur on Saturday...hope we are wrong, but this game won't be close.

Nescacman,

I think the matchup in Brunswick seems more pressing for than Wesleyan faithful than the game in Vermont (Panthers + 110). I'm really curious to see how the Wesleyan offensive line and rushing attack adjust from last week. My film study of the Wesleyan v Colby game showed many lapses among the offensive line. From what appeared to be missed assignments, poor schemes, etc, I believe this Bowdoin front 8 will give them fits. I like Bowdoin in this one.

Maybe other board members know this, but why does it say "Junior Varsity" next to my name? I've never played a snap of JV ball in my life. I was a 4 year varsity letterman, so maybe board admin can adjust this error for me.

Post a lot and you will be varsity.  You have to work your way up.

He won't be able to post after Saturday. Will be working overtime to pay up that panthers gamble!

Honcho - just remember Never chase your losses.

Quote from: Trin9-0 on October 17, 2024, 12:41:37 PMIs there a point to your post, G&P? If you're just going to repost what I wrote then you could have simply used the quote function.

I can only assume you think my opinion could be used as some sort of bulletin board material? I don't think it's off base to agree with the unbiased SP+ (or the biased Nescacman) projection that Trinity should be favored. If anything I was a bit surprised that fellow boardsters Maple and Honcho feel so confident that the Panthers will once again prevail against Trin. It's certainly not out of the question as upsets happen all the time. However I stand by everything I wrote about Clapp, Zebrowski, and the bright future of the Trinity defense.

As I recall you correctly picked the upset last season. Are you willing to predict Midd over Trinity two years in a row? If so, It seems I may actually be in the minority who thinks Trinity leaves Vermont with a win.

Trin 9-0,

Middlebury is a notoriously hostile place to play. I definitely believe the weather could play a role this weekend, not sure if the Trinity team will be acclimated to the harsh conditions. From what I've hearing, A Panthers win is even money this weekend. Again, that unbiased. Thats just what I'm hearing.

Back to one of your previous claims, I would like to point out that #82 for Trinity is coming off 3 catches for 54 yards vs Hamilton. Not exactly "mismatch for any corner in this league and cannot be covered"statlines. Seems like similar production as Ben Skowronk on the 2020 Notre Dame Football team. Per my independent film review and analysis, I believe the key to victory will be each team's preparation. I believe the team who prioritized hydration, sleep, nutrition, etc will ultimately win the game. I like the Panthers.

If the panthers are even money I have a farm or 3 I want to sell. Bantams by a lot.

Give me the mules over the cards this weekend. Colby has kept it close with everyone all season, and this is the game they get over the hump.

Let me add on to the entering the field speculation at the end of the Trinity @ Tufts Game.

Most of what was said was correct, both from Charlie and the other poster. Many Trinity Parents and Alumnus were on the field, as entry to the field post game was easy as walking through a gate. Some of course were hopping the field boundary fence, but that was not particularly needed.

However, at one gate in particular, there was a security guard not allowing people through. This upset some people as it is tradition for the Bantams faithful. If they did not want people on the field that is understandable. However it should have been enforced across the entire field. I think half the fans seeing the other half on the field while actively being prevented made some unhappy.

FWIW, I personally agree that it should not matter what Trinity has for "traditions", if Tufts wants nobody on the field, then no one should be.

One detail that WAS left out was one of the tufts coaches coming over and actively instigating those trying to get in. One Trinity Fan crossed the gate, to which the Tufts coach confronted him, and they shared their unpleasantries with each other. Mostly verbally, but a shove or two may have been exchanged... this was quickly broken up by onlookers. To prevent any escalation, the security pretty much just stopped enforcing the boundary.

Was very fun to watch unfold.

I also think it is funny how right after Wesleyan drops their annual stinker, discourse on this board immediately shifts to how Trinity has an unfair advantage.

Start pointing your finger the other way and you won't have to make excuses for failure every year.

Quote from: lumbercat on October 01, 2024, 11:39:33 PMI admire and have always been thrilled for the many Trinity commits who I have known from my area around Boston who have played and excelled for the Bantams. Trinity is a great, great program but it has always killed me to see exponentially more kids committing to Trinity striving for that ring who never get on the field or even play 4 years of Football.  Who can fault any kid for striving to be the best and embracing the opportunity.

However this isn't D1 where you recruit everybody you can and let the chips fall where they may.  This is D3 and it's a little different here. I always look at Trinity depth guys who never get on the field at Trinity along with their cuts and I want to tell those kids they would be a starter in other NESCAC programs or at least get on the field a lot more.

No fault on Trinity, they are committed to winning and that's how you do it.  If I'm a QB do I want to carry a clipboard on the sidelines for 4 years in Hartford or maybe even get cut........ or do I want to play.

I think NESCAC recruits need advice and guidance in the process. Strive for excellence and be the best you can be but beware when evaluating Trinity against other NESCAC opportunities it's a very different deal in Hartford for better or for worse.

Lumber, we agree with you, however, many of those Hartford State recruits wouldn't (or didn't) get into any other NESCAC school. For them, as far as the NESCAC was concerned, Hartford State was the only game in town. For those recruits that had the option, we 100% agree with you. We're not even talking about the life opportunities created for a student-athlete by attending a Williams or Amherst vs. attending Hartford State.

This is an awful take. Most people who come to Trinity are at the same academic level as students who go to other schools in the league. The recruits with 3.9/4.0 GPA's did not choose Trinity because it was their only option. In fact, as a former player, most of my teammates when I played had offers from multiple Nescac's. One in particular I can remember told me he was being heavily recruited by Wes, then changed his mind when he visited the campus. He was all in on Trinity the next day.

When you ask any of them why they came to Hartford, as most people do when they hear someone had multiple Nescac opportunities, the answer is usually pretty quick - I want to win.

It is really as simple as success breeds success. Of course, the accessibility to Boston and New York is a plus, as well as an outstanding alumni network, but it boils down to most people who are passionate about the game will want to go where the winners are.

Sure, you could go to Amherst, Williams, or Wesleyan and dedicate a huge chunk of time every day throughout the semester, only to get beat up every Saturday. But from what I've heard, most recruits want to see their hard work lead to something more.

Quote from: The Third Division on September 29, 2024, 01:03:25 PMI don't follow the NESCAC very much but I have to ask this one question. If bates is a team which beat a team which beat a team which were conference co-champions, is it indicative of this being the most random conference in d3 football?

One could say that the league is very balanced overall and that no one is that much better than other because they play by the same rules. Another person might say that everyone is pretty average and no one is really that good.

I can almost say that it gets pretty bland playing the same opponents every year. Like perhaps it doesn't condition you to adapt as well if you had OOC games.

Welcome to the board!! You will fit right in...

Quote from: Charlie on September 19, 2024, 02:58:30 PMThe bottom line is that Wesleyan should and needs to beat Tufts. If they do then yes they should be one of top 3. If Tufts wins sadly unless other teams screw up this will be a disappointing season for Wesleyan. They need to beat Tufts its a must win. If they win only 2 teams stand in their way Trinity , Williams.

I feel this board gives Wesleyan way too much credit. To say that the rest of their schedule should not even be looked at is a bit ridiculous given their track record since covid. They have yet to have a season where they beat everyone they "should have".

2021 they lost to Amherst (The first year of their downhill decline)
2022 they lose to a 3-6 Bowdoin team
2023 they lose to an anemic Colby team and get trounced by Tufts

I feel this same rhetoric around the team gets built every year and they always fail to deliver. To why that is I do not know. Is it the player's losing their sense of urgency thinking they will coast against teams they are "supposed" to beat? Is it coaching not able to handle pressure? I am not one to make assumptions on it. But until they prove they can compete every week like all championship teams in the past have done I will not say they are contenders.

Like clockwork.

Quote from: EphsRock123 on September 27, 2024, 01:48:33 PMI have to agree with MikeJones50 on this one. A spread of -10 for Trinity State is extremely aggressive. Last week against the Mules, the Ephs were able to score in every quarter, putting up 14 in the first half. The Bantams were only able to get the ball moving in 2 quarters against the Mules. The Bantams will have to show up in order to hang in their with the Ephs. Purple cows will be running the coop tomorrow.

Thank you EphsRock123.
