Anyone know how much season tickets run at Perkins Stadium?? Or do they even offer any such thing??

Thanks and looking forward to Whitewater's 2008 season.

You can probably get by on your student ID from last year for a year or two unless they change them a lot.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Well i graduated in 2002, and i haven't seen my ID since '04. Probably a good thing, since i probably look 20 years older and 30 pounds heavier than my ID picture.  Besides I think it got evaporated in the wash a few years ago.

I would like to go to as many games as possible this year. Not sure if it's worth getting season tickets, or just paying the $10/game at the gate.

thanks, and I can't wait to see how the team looks this year after they lost a bunch to the NFL  ;).

Tickets during the season are $6 a game.  Price jumps to $10 for the play-offs so the NCAA can get their cut.  Don't think I have ever heard of a season ticket at the Perk.   The National Championship Warhawks, (still love the sound of that,)  did lose a lot but I hear the cupboard will be far from bare next fall.  Some great talent just waiting for their turn.   ;)

UW-Whitewater has had a season ticket package for the past several years.  Based on a five-game regular season home schedule, the price has been $25 per season ticket (a savings of $1 per game).  At this time, UWW has just four home games on the schedule which will likely mean the cost will be $20 (no official decision has been made). We're still hoping to add a 10th game.

A story in today's paper says Oshkosh is out of the running for Rams training camp.

What front page are you looking at?   ???

UWW is still on the banner.  Pat can change that one if you wish.   :D

Augie is dropping the Wing-T.  In the CCIW, that is almost apocalyptic.

The Notables talk about coaching changes.  Emory and Henry forfeited some games.

Pat blogs about the background work on the websites, all 6 of them now.  Baseball is going strong.  Pat has been putting in schedules for 2008.  Check them out.  The WIAC teams are having fun putting together football schedules.  Reliable sources on the ASC board report that UMHB wanted to continue the UWW series, but UWW didn't.  UWW is playing UPS this year.

UMHB is flying to Southern Oregon on that 4th October weekend.

Mr. Downtown

I like how Al Ackerman states that it's the "Ram's Loss" on the decision not playing in Oshkosh.

Perhaps if the city would find a way to finish the Oshkosh Sports Complex this decade, then it wouldn't have been a question if Oshkosh was ready for a NFL team.

It's funny that the University is way ahead of the city, yet, so many University projects need the communities help to get them completed. That is probably the only reason why Oshkosh is the third biggest school in the state, on the second smallest campus lot.

At least Oshkosh got Johnny Depp to come...

St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting today that UW-Whitewater, Concordia (Mequon) and Western Illinois in Macomb are believed to be the three finalists for the Rams' summer training camp location.

Rams trained in Macomb for nine years (1996-2004) before leaving to train at team's practice facility in suburban St. Louis.

I doubt the city cares too much about the Oshkosh Sports Complex since it's not involved in the tax base. I'm sure the city would like to see the Complex completed so it can help with ancillary revenue streams like hotels, bars and other service industries. But I highly doubt the city will do much (officially, through the board) to help the project. The Chamber and other like-minded folks are doing some stuff, but it's up to the university and school district (the ones who directly benefit) to get it done.

Then there is the neighborhood red tape (too noisy, events end too late, lack of parking structure), too. But it starts with the odd decisions on both sides that led to the Complex being outside the tax base. If the Complex is in Whitewater, I think the project is be closer to completion, if not already done. Tough sell for just UWO to raise funds for that kind of project, especially since it's never really done something like the Complex.

As proof, click on the link at the bottom of this page. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it probably involved better communication, planning and fund-raising than the Oshkosh Sports Complex.

(If that link ends up working, I would be amazed)

I agree with the main point about it costing the city a pro training camp. The city, university and complex have already hosted the national outdoor T&F championships and will temporarily host the Badger State Games, among the bigger events in its short history. If it were complete, you'd have to think the Complex would stand a better chance. Don't know if it would win out, obviously. But it would probably make the short  list of regional contenders, especially if the Wellness Center were involved in the deal.

That said, I'm guessing Pat Cerroni doesn't mind having unlimited access to his field.

Mr. Downtown

All good points OshDude.

I know that UWO wanted to at least get the locker-rooms done for the two years they were hosting the Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. Again, not the case as I heard they will be starting those during the summer.

Anyone remember that bill that the State wanted to pass to ban corporate purchasing of naming rights to collegiate athletic facilities? I'm sure it didn't get passed, but wondering if it was ever revisited how that might hurt future projects like Oshkosh is desperately trying to get done.

Speaking of the Rams and the NFL Draft, every mock draft I have seen list Wide Receiver as a pressing need for the Rams.  Most have the Rams picking a WR in Round 2.
