That got me stoked.  I especially like it when other teams' highlight films don't include any plays against Central.

Fumbles don't play in Peoria

On that note ... anyone here old enough to remember when Bradley University played football?

I'm about to turn 67 and I grew up in Peoria - I remember, but also recall that they were so bad that I didn't really follow them.  Bradley has always been primarily a basketball school.

Looking up Bradley in the College Football Data Warehouse.  Their football program was shut down after the 1970 season.  Their last 2 seasons they went 1-8 playing mostly a mix of current D2 and FCS teams, with their lone win in 1969 coming against current D3 Wheaton.  So there is your D3 tie in to talking Bradley ;)

Can't wait for teams to get into camp in the next month so I can see what kind of newcomers they were able to bring into camp!

I saw Wheaton beat Bradley in the Fall of '61, along with defeating Northern Illinois, Wayne State and Valparaiso.  In fact, the then "Crusaders" went undefeated that season (8-0) and finished ranked 2nd in the nation in the unofficial poll as D-III didn't exist in that era.  I know all this because before I saw the light and became Blue-and-White, I spent one year as Chief Announcer for WETN.

Well its about time we get out of the 60's.  D3 preseason Top 25 is out.  Only Wartburg gets a mention at #6.  Seems a bit high to me but the Knight supporters will try to prove me wrong. ;D  Central's 6 game winning streak means good things ahead to me.  I know they lost a quality RB and QB, but any insiders know who they get back to make them contenders?  Been way too quiet on here for about 6 months.

Old Dutch got me looking up pre-season info.

Dubuque shows 66 on their roster before freshman and transfers add to the list in the next month.

28 Sophomores
17 Juniors
21 Seniors

32 from Illinois
14 from Iowa
14 from Wisconsin
1 each from Alaska, Florida, Hawaii, Japan, South Carolina, Texas

Dubuque reports to camp August 13th.

I would guess most other teams report about the same day.  We'll see how fast they update their rosters.

Will anyone challenge Wartburg?  Who is moving up the standings...who is moving down?

Big IIAC news if this article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette turns out to be true.

Iowa Conference to add Nebraska Wesleyan to the conference.  While I like the idea of adding a team to the league, I'm not excited or expecting to make any road trips over there.  I feel for them being the only D3 school in a sea of NAIA over there, but I guess we shall see.

I appreciate the conference wanted more of a western presence...but Lincoln, NE? The IIAC dates back to 1922. Would we change our name just a few years shy of the century mark?

I understand NWU was on an island as a d3 school playing in a an NAIA league, but they had local rivalries that I can't imagine they will be able to develop in the IIAC. You see a sizable travel base among IIAC fans in football, that I don't see driving into Nebraska for NWU games.

I don't see how this is a good fit, but I guess I'll give the powers-that-be the benefit of the doubt.

No one has...that was me asking a question.  If the Iowa Conference adds a team in Nebraska, would they change the name of the conference?  Seems like a legit question...but maybe not.
