I am and have been optimistic to see where Zane would end up. Look at TJ and his development as a receiver, the guy is a beast! and he was in the QB rotation previously. But I do think Zane would be a better fit at QB than Kyle, I realize that Kyle is stepping into a huge set of shoes as a freshman QB at UMHB, alot of expectation bearing down on his rotations I mean look at what he has to follow, Blake as a seriously strong QB and sets a pace, you are called in and have to keep it up as a freshman. But Zane at least has some time on the field from previously played games.
Lets hope we see 17 on the field.

And that is why in my top 25 vote I have it:
1. UMHB
2. UWW
3. Mount
It will have been a good season if UMHB can beat Linfield, UWW and UMU.  (And I am not sure how, but even Wesley!)

(TruCru....perhaps approach one of your former player assistant coaches and whisper the question if Coach Fred wants you on here while you're playing.)

If you did t catch the July podcast, go back and check it out. Great interview with the Howard Payne coach. Thanks Pat and Keith!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

You gotta love TJ Josy's post play routine. He always seems to end on a roll, pops up, stands, looks around like..."did you see that"

Good to see the new Cru play...hope our linebackers heal up...

So Wow, that is what prison ball looks like. Caught the LC v ETBU game, I've lost respect for etbu...I thought the Sul Ross game had some low blow plays, I'm surprised the shivs didn't get pulled last night in Louisiana.

Can you cite/explain some examples of the type stuff you saw? No numbers or teams (to avoid unnecessary further embarrassment). I am just morbidly curious.
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

I also watch the LC vs. ETBU game and the two LC announcers were commenting on how they were disappointed that ETBU was following the path that Sul Ross had set. Although the video feed wasn't the best it appeared that some of the ETBU front line would kick LC players in the helment while they were down on the ground. Also, there seemed to be more than normal hands to the face, grabbing the numbers and holding, and not letting up when the QB had already let the ball go.

I thought that when UMHB played ETBU they did many of these same antics, seeing them again while ETBU played LC seemed to confirm that it wasn't me seeing things. I'm all for playing a hard physical game, but when the players push the envelope and it has the appearance of being acknowledged by the coaching staff it really cheapens the game and takes away from the game.

One easy one.. Punter.. hit once.. ok it happens, Twice.. in the head...really? That player should have been ejected and not merely called for roughing. That was so blatant...And it goes downhill from there. And Coach tries to talk/ Argues with the ref out of it while the punter is on the ground receiving medical. Tells me alot...Shows the players alot

Not to mention the fourth Quarter team taunting, players turning the LC crowd and saying bring it! (not that LC crowd were angels mind you)

Mr. Ypsi

I didn't watch enough of the ETBU @ LC game to comment on 'goon' play, but did see something that made me doubt the intelligence of the ETBU coach.  After two 15-yard penalties were assessed to LC, ETBU kicked off from the LC 35.  An obvious time for an onside kick (which would have to cross the 25, and you might recover the ball), or at least a very short kick where you might keep them inside the ten or even five.  But no - the ball is kicked through the end-zone, meaning it is brought out to the 25!  Mind you, it was a one-point ballgame at the time.  WTF??!! :o

I strongly suspect that ETBU will get their comeuppance this Saturday.  Hardened Sinners by AT LEAST a monkey-stomp, and a double stomp would not surprise me.

DFWCrufan

Mr. Ypsi, a monkey stomp is not out of the realm for HSU this season, when we faced them they were solid in three phases, and their read is pretty right on and quick. If HSU can keep their composure, I lean their way. ETBU will trying to put them into a mood and off their game, the Cowboys have to keep cool. I don't mind good competition mind you, and a psych game is all part of it as well, the momentum shifts can be controlled if they keep their cool.

i can promise HSU has plans for ETBU after last year. The team has not forgotten
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

GLAD2BCOWBOY

ETBU can and has put up a lot of points. They give up a lot of points also. I think the HSU defense slows them down and I think the HSU offense makes them pay.   Both teams have something to prove but I just don't think ETBU will repeat last year.  As long as HSU plays their game, they should be fine. With that said, it's a conference game with a lot on the line.

DFWCrufan

The hsu/etbu match up is going to be quite entertaining, and yes, I forgot about 2015 and the mudbowl. In fact I will probably bypass my beloved Cru to watch that game. Both of these sides bring a different dimension in their game, both can run a good hurry up campaign and adjust quickly. But I like HSU qb a bit more, the guy is a rock when an avalanche is coming down. It is going to be a good one I think. (I give advantage hsu)
