50/50?  Hardly.  There will be have to be some crazy stars alignment, witches doing chants, and the committee doing ganga to make that happen.  OR, a bunch of teams losing in the last few weeks.

It is almost Halloween!   ;D ;D 8-)

I'll admit that 50/50 was a stretch given the source was only at 33% but it doesn't seem too crazy. How many teams do you think need to lose to make it happen?

We'll know on Wednesday.  It's difficult to say right now because I really have no idea what the West RAC is going to do with Linfield.  The Cats got a massive assist from UWSP on Saturday.  That may have been the most important, and least likely, domino to fall for Linfield.  Without Oshkosh losing, I don't know that there was any realistic path for Linfield into the tournament.  Now?  Maybe.

Can any of the UMHB faithful let me know why the game vs mcmurry hasn't been put on the video website? The JV has been posted from last night. Any help to let me watch the game again would be greatly appreciated. Go CRU!!

I'd really like to HSU go up to Spokane and play Whitworth... I think that would be a great game!

I'd also like to see this matchup, although of course I'd prefer it to take place in Abilene. I watched a little of the Pirates game against Pacific last week, and Whitworth looked really solid on both sides of the ball.

I think I ask this question every year, but what determines home field in the playoffs? Top 25 ranking? Regional rankings? Conference Champion? Whatever the NCAA happens to be drinking that day?

I ask because one of the many playoff scenarios the board has guessed at is HSU going to Whitworth. (I know there are two weeks left and lots can happen)
Figured one of you more experienced members would know.

Primarily it's based on the seeds determined by the Committee (i.e., higher seed hosts) as well as assuming teams have put in to be able to host home games throughout the playoffs. The latter hasn't always been the case, so on occasion a "better" team has had to travel.

I understand what you are saying, I'm thinking back to last year when HSU was the 2 seed out of the South and then Linfield was the 4th seed out of the West. In that scenario, did that just go back to an eye test on which team was better in the Committee's eyes or what? Both had lost to UMHB and if we are getting technical, HSU had the "better" loss, so that still confused me as to why we traveled to McMinnville.

This is when we wish they truly released the seeds of the bracket, although releasing the final regional rankings is something. Only thing you can figure is when they set our pod they re-ranked the pod using the NCAA criteria. And while HSU did have a "better" lose to UMHB, Linfield had "better" wins since they beat Whitworth and Chapman who were in the final West region rankings.

I just figured our trip to McMinnville last year was a return favor for them coming to Abilene the year before, shows what I know.   ;D

This is all correct.  Linfield's numbers (SOS, RRO results) were better than HSU's numbers despite the difference in regional ranking (W4 vs. S2).  The result vs. common opponent UMHB slightly favored HSU but not to an extent that would offset two RRO wins and a heavy SOS cushion for Linfield.
