Great game by UMHB at Crusader Stadium today!

Etchglow

That was one heck of a defensive performance by the Cru. Held a team averaging 46.5 points a game to 17 points (and only 10 points from the offense). 15 tfl and 5 sacks. Clean up some of those 4 turnovers and I'd have to be doing more math on how exactly the asc tie breakers work for the aq...

Let's see if a 5-2 vs D3 earns a Pool C bid for UMHB.

I'm pessimistic, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

They're currently 20th for 12 bids (per D3DataCast).  A win this weekend will, I believe, allow them to drop their worst win and bump their NPI, but the same is true for many of the schools above them so help will be needed.

I would expect Logan Hansen to weigh in on this in the upcoming week.

And it goes without saying that UMHB fans should be pulling for Maryville this week against Trinity as the Tigers are currently third among pool C eligible teams.

But would Maryville defeating TUTx boost UMHB from the #C20 position and way out of the playoffs up to #C13, the last Pool C bid?
I do not see how UMHB can jump that high this weekend.

Generally speaking, UMHB wants a bunch of teams above them in the Pool C chase to lose.  Trinity losing by itself doesn't elevate UMHB.

Some prognosticators say Trinity's in even with a loss since they're so high now, but I think UMHB fans are happy to see Trinity lose regardless ;D

Thx.
HSU looks to be on the road (and some place very cold) for Quarterfinals if they get there.

Maybe I am wrong but I think many UMHB fans think of Trinity as a worthy adversary (I know I do), so the only way I would hope for them to lose is if it does help us or we are playing you of course  ;D

I was disappointed to find out how low in the playoff pecking order UMHB seems to be. I thought they'd have a pretty good shot at getting in if they beat HSU (and then Howard Payne), but it appears they're still a longshot. Hopefully we can get some breaks and several teams ahead of us lose.

This, always a good game with Trinity. The only team I root for to lose no matter what is Hardin Simmons lol.

Not a huge fan of Trinity's stadium because parking is always a pain to find and last time I was there you had to walk to the home side to use the bathroom.

As of today (not projected), they'd be in the Berry bracket and Berry is matched up with Johns Hopkins as Hopkins is the overall #1 and Berry is #8. Maryland can get cold, but could be 55 around noon.

Agree that parking is a pain, especially if you arrive late.  I still dream that we will spend some money on the visitor side for both facilities and to get the visiting team "locker room" out of that ancient pool changing room.  There are now usually portapotties on the visitor side, a food trailer, and you can use the restrooms in the Bell Center next to the baseball field behind the stands.  Not great but some improvement over years past.

There have been talks about building a fieldhouse, but it will probably come at the expense of the non-varsity tennis courts and/or some of the limited student parking next to the outdoor pool.
