Its the playoffs, sort of.

Several Questions to be answered on Saturday:

1. Who will win the turnover battle?

2. Can the Mount D contain Brooks?

3. Can the Berg D contain K. Burke?

4. Which team becomes too tight in the 4th quarter?

5. Who does the best job of coaching Hallet or V.Kehres?

6. Over 70% of the posters say Mount will win, are they correct? :-\

Turnovers are going to be huge in this game. I know that I have mentioned Woods' inability to hold onto the ball but Minnich has 4 fumbles coming in (I think Woods has 2). Mount has had a hard time with ball security - and today is wet and cold (at least right now at 645am - and I am 17 miles from Tiffin). I am concerned because of how Burke looked throwing the ball against Cap and Ott - especially Cap because it was wet like it is now. I think this comes down to coaching in the end. If LK was on Mounts sidelines I think Mount would be MOUNT - but the Raiders have a ton of youth on offense and I think it may hurt them today. I will pick Mount to win - because I will never pick against Mount - but I think today could be the day Heidi steps up. Not because its at Heidi - Mount has a better road record -but because of coaching and veteran leadership. I hope I am wrong - and as always: Roll Raiders ~ Roll! Now to get my pick-ems in. A good, safe game for both sides and safe travels for all.

For a while I had been looking at this game and favoring Mount pretty heavily because Heidelberg was giving up a lot more points than Mount, but closer examination reveals that a lot of those points have come in games that are already wayyyy out of hand (as I said, Otterbein is the direct comparison that seems to indicate Heidelberg's defense is much softer than Mount's).

This is a great point! This is what feeds all the "second team " talk. Mounts second unit D has played a ton and kept other OAC starting units out of the end zone - and in some cases they have been as dominant as the staring unit (like against Ott). All it really shows me is that Mounts second unit D is better than Bergs second unit D - which doesn't mean much today. Coaching, TO's and Veteran leadership are going to be the biggest factors today. Like I said - if LK was on the Mount sidelines I would not even worry (Like the "Da-Bears" skit: If LK and the Raiders were up against God...- Da Raiders!) but Hallett has more HC experience and more Vet leadership. Plus Heidi holds on to the ball. Makes me concerned the Raiders only win 72-6 instead of 72-3  ;D. No I am thinking this is gonna be more like 24-17 Raiders or 27-24 Heidi. Buckle up cuz its going to be a bumpy ride!

Raiderpa - It may be a little bit late, but there's this from the Berg's website: " Will there be enough seating at the football game?

Mayer Field has three sets of bleachers on the north sideline for fans.  Many fans opt to bring a lawn chair and sit on top of the hill along the north sideline or along either end zone.

Fans with special mobility needs should see a member of the game day management crew at the west entrance of Mayer Field"

So I think the answer to your question is "No, it hasn't changed."

Heidelberg will have a Video Feed Today!   ;D

But a temporary, canvas covered press box totaling a whopping 150 sf and  home to 17 people.   Cozy at Heidi today.

IMHO, that looked like a planned fake punt.  Blocking looked too good.

Defense is DEAD tired.    Mount has to keep scoring to win.   44 probably not going to be enough.
