Think about the great players from the 90s and early 2000s. Would those guys turned down an opportunity to play one more game against a team like W&J, Wabash, Washington U, etc?

Yes.  Playing in a meaningless "bowl game" is beneath the Mount Union football program.  Dartt has driven it down faster than anyone could have expected in 6 years, but we are not at the level of celebrating mediocrity...yet

Playing in the Swenson's Bowl would be more embarrassing than 2026 has been so far.  No chance it would happen.

Now, Heidelberg just lose your couple of games and this chat shouldn't even matter

Mount Stopped having players that loved football and loved the process. Stopped having people who worked through adversity. Just point the finger blame other people and be focused solely on results.

well that's simply not true.  My favorite hobby is supporting my alma mater's football program, which up until 5 years or so ago was the greatest dynasty college football has ever seen.  You're either high as a kite or a fan of a program that doesn't matter much if you think my "complaints" over the past few years are not valid.

Ok who's the troll? 1 - it's ,warriors' - we are the worriers 😁. 2 - I see like 4 posts from you and you love the word ,arrogance'. Find a new word. Mount not playing in your phantom ,also ran bowl' wouldn't mean they don't love football, anymore than playing that 1 extra game will save the dynasty. A new word for you is ,,presumptuous".  You come in with attacks of  ,,weak men" and ,,worrior [sic]" tropes as if to say that Mount's problems aren't a new staff, or a younger team, or questionable play-calling, but they simply aren't ,man enough' and don't love the game.

That is awfully presumptuous. The definition of which also contains your other buzz word- arrogance. You have reduced the many issues to a lack of manhood and weakness. That is your opinion and you have a right to it but do you need to be so blatantly rude and ignorant while shouting it?

Just like Mount - the dynasty that has been here for decades - many of us have been HERE for decades. I have been here since 2005 (?) and following Mount since 92. This is a place to share thoughts and, as of the past few years, commiserate on the failures. It is fun, and done so constructively. That is literally the point of the entire board! So stop being a troll, stop posting in all caps, get a thesaurus, and get over it. At the end of the day - its a game.

I don't believe Geoff Dartt and the players are any of these things. I think many Mount fans are some of them when it comes to Mount Union football. However, if they quit the season and don't play in the Bowl if invited (which I believe the OAC highest ranking non of playoff team is required to play in play in by league rules) I might change my opinion on the Team.

Not a whole lot of Machine Era level of players are around Alliance because they do not want to play for or believe in the Head Coach. Facts are facts.

Things are different than they were in 2001. Players couldn't tranfer up without sitting out. LK was the best Coach D3 ever saw and possibly the best ever at any level. Now you're comparing GD to a true living legend. VK is a truly special and great coach who won with LK as the AD, only a few years removed as HC and still helping out on the staff. Who is better than GD, CK, KB? Mount is lucky to have them. Simply sidelining the Machine will not restore performance levels. The team requires additional competitive minutes to identify and correct the problems so they can return to the standard.

For a change of pace, what are your early thoughts on the OAC after a few games... here's some thoughts, order based on OAC site standings

Heidi a pleasant surprise
BW meeting early expectations, lots of returnees and early easy schedule
ONU keeping '25 momentum, tough games ahead
Etta seems to be ok on transition from losing head coach to St Ignatius
Cap & Ott was hoping to see bigger improvement from previous year
Mount Hints of the early season were there with big returnee losses, new coaches and past few years not     dominating each and every OAC team as usual
Wilma same as Cap & Ott
Muskies maybe the biggest disappointment so far. Didn't see 0-3

Good news, a lot of football to be played and no telling where things end up
