How do you figure GC was "Better than Mount most of the game"

After 3, Mount had outgained them 298-260. What kept GC in the game was 3 picks that were great plays by the D.

How was GC was better team for most of the game? It's not hard: they had more points. Mount led briefly (for less two minutes) late in the 2Q, and then again in the last 12 seconds. GC held the lead for 48 minutes.

So what do you guys think about SFU being competitive going forward?  I feel like we have a pretty nice campus and a great coach but I really don't know.  Is it hard to recruit good athletes to places like Thiel and Hiram?  Also, is SFU kind of in the same boat?  We have probably good facilities for D3 but I see that St. Vincent's made a big upgrade and are better than our's at this point and our campus is pretty rural.

I wanted to make sure that you guys realize that I watch more D3 football than probably 99% of football fans.  I swear I was like one of the first five followers of the Third Division on IG LOL.

The final score is all that matters.  But there is no way in hell any person who watched that game , thought that Mount Union controlled the game. Go to the OAC boards, many MU fans in the board said as much.

GCC imposed their will on Mount, more than Mount imposed their will on GCC.  That does not mean the better team lost, that doesn't mean GCC should have won.  It just means GCC lost this game more than MU won it.

I never said that Mount controlled the game. I though the game was pretty much even until the end. GC had a slight lead, but Mount was moving the ball better. As I said, GC's pass D stymied Mount with three int in the first half.

It is amazing that a conference that has 12 members,  7 are off this weekend.  Has this ever happened in the PAC before?  Is this common in other conferences?

CWRU is a toss up.

With an even number of teams, open dates are usually all in weeks 1-3

With a 9-game PAC schedule in 2027, I predict even fewer will play week 2.

I can't get a handle on Grove City. Better than Mount most of the game, but also dominated by Cortland for three quarters at home

GC offense underperformed in both games. SO first-year starter QB under 50% completion. As I've already mentioned, interceptions kept them in the game vs MtU despite giving up a more yards.

You make it sound like interceptions/turnovers are not as important as yardage.  Any coach would tell you they would rather have 5 turnovers (especially in key situations) than more yardage.  More times than not, you win with 5 turnovers.

You infer that I made a general statement about the value of turnovers vs total offense, when I was commenting only on IC's post that he didn't understand the difference between the two GC games. The subject of the discussion was those two games. What I actually stated was that turnovers is what made the difference (were more important) when comparing the two games.[BTW, GC was -2 turnovers vs Cortland.]

In the GC/MtU game a 162 yard total offense margin (433-271) edged out a +3 turnover margin.

How many coaches have you asked the question to state: "Any coach would tell you they would rather have 5 turnovers ... than more yardage"? This game proves the inaccuracy of that statement, regardless of your muddying it up with the parenthetical. Obviously some turnovers are more important than others, the timing can matter more than the margin.
