IWU with an impressive drive after a Warhawk turnover and they take the lead 17-10 with 8min to go in Bloomington. The IWU defense has been great today, holding UWW to just 31 yds rushing so far. UWW has turned it over twice with bad snaps going in for scores.

USee

UWW fumbles their 3rd snap of the game, this time with a minute to go at the Titan 1 yd line and IWU recovers.

Looks like the Titans are going to win this thing.

Really a heck of a game by the IWU Defense and Oline. No IWU turnovers and 3 for UWW are the story.

Final from Bloomington

IWU 17
UWW 10

43 yrds rushing for UWW and 3 turnovers, 2 of which at the IWU 1 yd line.

Shocker for D3.

Congrats to IWU. Their Defense went to to toe with the Warhawks and showed they are legit.

I am going to spend the rest of the weekend recalculating my IWU algorithms.

Unless the pollsters are drastically wrong about UWW, this is IWU's biggest win in ... well, forever! ;D ;D

Three times in the game UWW had first-and-goal at the Titan 1, and never got a TD!  Two TOs and a FG was all the Titan defense allowed. :o

I don't think we'll be able to 'sneak up' on Wheaton or NCC! ;)

Hail to the Titans.
Congratulations IWU on a well-deserved victory. The Titans flat out played better football, and played it harder.

Way to go.

Thanks, emma - that is very classy of you to come over after what had to be a heart-breaking ending of the game.

Titan Q

Great win for the Titans -- that was an extremely impressive performance today.  Really proud of the effort and execution today against a tremendous team.

As many have said, a great win for the Titans and the program.  A very well-coached game, with the D and O playing very very well.  Many new players doing well. Bauer had a good, wise game and the new Titan RB also played very well, running north and south with strong moves against a huge WW D line.  Key to the win was the outstanding D by IWU.  Many many 3 and outs, good pass D for the most part.  WW got new life on several very dubious calls, including an interference call in the end zone and a roughing the passer call that was truly not so.  IWU hung in and played poised football throughout.  The new receiver corps played well, though surely can improve in coming weeks.  Game shows that IWU is better than many of us thought and that WW did not play up to their #3 ranking today.  I'm sure this bitter loss, esp. with the bad snaps and fumbles, will spur them on to better days.  Big crowd, students and former players rushing the field.  This team could be very good.  I'm stunned, and happily surprised.  Great win TITANS.  Surely one of the best in the history of the program.  A beautiful, blue-skied sunny day at Tucci Stadium at Wilder Field.  As we often say, "A Great Day to be a TITAN."
