773-I can't say I understand the point of this. Is it just CCIW results against various teams?

Yep.  Sorry for not providing context.  I saw the list of NPI rankings for our CCIW teams and wondered about the rankings of our OOC opponents.  This is just a gut punch for WashU I think.  I wonder what ranking WashU's OOC opponent would have had to be in order for them to be in the pool C conversation.

I just think WashU is a playoff worthy team and it is disappointing that they won't have a chance to show that.  Then again, their OOC opponent was #205 Rhodes.

Rhodes is 1-7. The game NPI for that game is currently 55.963. It's like 1.5 points higher than the Elmhurst win. It's like they played Elmhurst twice at home.

A home game against a team ranked as low as 70 or an away win you can go even into 100's and you would have got at least 20 points more. Their best win right now is Carroll away, game NPI is 75.23.

Their best win will be Augie away if they win that game. That will bump up the NPI but not enough. They could have easily been in the hunt but like your pointing out who you play in non-conference and where you play matters.

Ok, I'm trying to figure out what Elmhurst having zero tells us because whatever excuse I can use for Elmhurst,  I can use for NCC. ;D

Perhaps the thinking is doing exceedingly well vs Elmhurst is something that's expected as opposed to something that's exceptional. 🤔

I would be in peak work avoidance mode if I looked up the big individual stats vs. Elmhurst and compared them to the eventual player of the week award winners for each week.  I need to stop.  I have a d3football statistics problem.

I've always loved statistics. So much so that I took it twice;)
