just touched down in Spokane.  headed to the hotel.  ready to watch cats catch rats tomorrow.

Lever Street

Linfield looks to go 4-0 tomorrow.  But don't overlook the fact that Whitworth played the Cats tough last year at Catdome.  Cats only won that game by 11.

Better Cat D this year should ease that fear however.

Linfield 45
Pirates 20 (1 garbage-time td)

You can't get to CatDome without seeing Lever Street.   Go Linfield!

swede

Old swede will have to give those 'Rats a chance of pulling off the upset of the year. Thats providing they can put 40 on the board and the chance of them doing that is slim to none.

The cat D comes up with 2 fumbles and 3 picks.

Wildcats 49
Whitworth 27 (14 0f those garbage time scores)

PLU 35
UPS 17 Loggers will have to wait another year to "prove it"

Where's Pennstlbu?

I've been giving him a hard time but he's been a good poster for UPS.

I was looking forward to his picks for this week.

There are a lot of great stats about Wildcat football.  I was just looking up the past results for the last few years.

Cats have won 36 Regular season games in a row.

In the past 45 football games, Linfield is 43-2....a .956 winning pct.  And that includes playoff games vs. quality opponents.

And the best part of all.......they're getting BETTER!

Been having problems w/ my internet connection, plus a busy week working.

Last week's game was a tough one to swallow. It looked like UPS was about to get the win by running out the clock, then the fumble occurred. Even then, it looked like they could still win, as Willamette had trouble throwing. But Willamette pulled through with the win with the pass in the corner of the end zone.

The key stat for UPS so far this season, as compared to last season? Turnover margin. This year they are -7. Last year they finished +5. The Loggers haven't been able to get the short field, whereas they have been giving the opponents the short field too many times. They need to take better care of the ball, and continue to be more aggressive on defense.

They've also been banged up. Their 3rd string TB ended up getting 100 yards last week, after losing their top two TBs. Carlson has been taking punishment for 4 years now. The defense has had several guys nicked up as well. It got to the point last week that a backup OLB was playing defensive tackle.

As tough as last week's loss was for the Loggers, this is Lute week. The team has had the 10/8/05 date marked all year, since last year's tough 2OT loss. This is the year that Lute win streak against the Loggers ends. This is the game the Loggers have wanted to win the most all season. Not the Pomona or Claremont games. Not the Linfield or Willamette games. The PLU game is their biggest game of the season. I expect to see one of their best games tomorrow.

Looks like a few (bad) things happened in the weeks I was gone.  Sounds like the Lutes moved the ball well against the National Champs, but too many weapons on the other side made every mistake costly.

Come on Lutes.  Time to Breakthrough.

I've lost my home and I've lost some friends so losing football games is pretty irrelevant right now, but I still Believe something can be salvaged from this fall.

Hey Lutes
Go Lutes

I bet most of the Wildcat player's are looking forward to going into a hostile environment and struttin their stuff.  It's fun to play on the road.
