Gang,

I just noticed on another thread that my own alma mater, Case Western Reserve U., just got a transfer QB from Bates College named Sergio Beltran.

What can you folks tell me about him as a QB?  Should we be excited?

Beltran is a great overall athlete who is very likely not being brought in as a true QB.  He is extremely versatile and can help as a TB, WR or as a change-of-pace wildcat QB.  He's probably ideally suited to playing as a slot receiver.

OK.  Thanks.  Seems like an all-purpose back.  Hopefully we'll be able to get the ball in his hands a good bit.

Looking forward to seeing the NESCAC champ in the playoffs for the first time this year!

LONG overdue!

Here's who Trinity is bringing to The Coop this fall:

Any other schools list their incoming class?

Ironic to see Sergio Beltran moving to CWRU to play for long time CWRU Coach Greg Debeljak. Debeljak was a finalist for Bates Head Coaching job in 2022. His interview took place at Bates. I was one of a few Alums who sat in on the interview on zoom. Debeljak had a very good record at CWRU but was only mildly impressive in the interview process. 2 other HC Coach candidates were much more impressive in terms of their interview and their plan for rebuilding the Bates program one of whom was Coach Coyne.

Sergio is talented and very versatile. He will make plays as a slot receiver and can succeed on vertical routes as well. He will be a leader. Total team guy. Sorry to see him go.

It's been surprisingly quiet, with only three league schools making any kind of announcements (at least via twitter).

Thus far, aside from Trinity, Amherst has shared 24 members of their incoming class. Not sure if there will be more.
Hamilton has announced 12 commits with more to come.
