Mr. Ypsi

We now stand at ten ballots.  Many long time voters not yet heard from!

I'd prefer to 'publish' in the next few hours, but Greg would be broadcasting tonite, so I may wait to hear from him.  Others?  (Long time or newbie; if you follow hoops nationally, you're more than welcome.)

Most poll positions are still WIDE open races!

magicman

I'll have one coming in about an hour or so.

I only broadcast NPU's home games, Chuck. I'm back here in Chicago watching the Vikings on the computer. I want to wait another week or two before I submit a ballot, if that's alright with you.

My poll is finally in. Sorry to be so late. I'll do better next week. Mr. Ypsi is right in the middle of a barnburner between IWU and Augie. It'll be a while befor the results get posted i'm sure. ;D

I cast a vote for William Paterson, but I don't see them on the list anywhere. I also voted for Eastern Conn. and at a ranking that isn't listed next to their name.

Interesting poll results. Not sure I understand some of the placements, though. Would like to hear some of the reasons for these votes, if possible.

Middlebury #23.  This 1 vote cost Middlebury the #1 ranking. (They could have been ranked 16th and would be #1)

Va Wesleyan   #24     Just wondering if its the same voter that gave Middlebury it's #23 vote. Hope they understand that we do list the team we think is the best as #1 and not #25.

MIT received no ranking by one voter.  Left off on purpose or perhaps inadvertently?

WPI #3  seems pretty high

Eastern Connecticut   #8 also seems pretty high

I'm not overly impressed with gaudy W-L records against weak schedules. (I'll take credit for each of the above). I want to see Midd, Va. Wes., and MIT keep it up through the teeth of their conference play.

To me, the even more alarming fact is that someone thinks UW-W is #9.

My highest non-top 25 team (in our poll) was Wash U. which I had at #19. It was really hard to pick after the Top 15.

I had Emory at #2. ID'ing the Top 15 was pretty easy but putting them into the slots was rough.

However, this is a baseline. I think I'll get this down to a science and swing with this pretty easily.

I thought I was going to be the crazy one.  I get the point, though.  It was difficult for me to figure out what to do with the teams who have beaten a lot of bad teams with no real great win.

At this point, I do side with margin of victory.  Even if you're playing scrubs, winning by 30 every night says something for your ability.

I humbly give up my "captain outlier" title once and for all.  I shall never regain it after this week.  I have lost the ability to surprise and infuriate.

I had them #2, but WW is #9 in the real poll. ???

My transcribing errors - poll has been corrected.

I just noticed this.  That's practically indefensible.  They lost two games - to the only moderately decent teams on the schedule and have beaten no one.

Poll looks good to me, but I am guessing that even with resending you never got mine? My rankings of a few teams show that mine wasn't in there.  Hope I figure it out for next time.

Actually, I eventually got your PM (or got your re-send), but had already logged in your email ballot.  I noticed there were some differences between the two (and didn't know which you preferred), but chose not to undo what I'd already done.

I find PM more convenient; go ahead and send it that way again next week (and I'll be more patient, if necessary!).
