I looked at the D3Hoops scoreboard to see that UMW was in an OT game, so I tuned in. It was a crazy finish.  After 2 Zevi Samet free throws in double overtime put Yeshiva up 1, the Eagles had 5.6 or so and got the ball in to Kai Robinson who drove to roughly the free throw line and drilled it.  .5 second on the clock. Unbelievably, Yeshiva connected on a long pass into the paint for an uncontested open layup.  He missed.

The UMW/Yeshiva game was even crazier before the second OT: with 19 seconds left Yeshiva was up by 6. UMW drained 2 FTs, then stole the next two inbounds passes and scored on both to tie it and send it to first OT. As noted, UMW won by one in second OT after Yeshiva missed a layup with .8 seconds left. What a great game. UMW now 4-0.

Been quiet here for a bit. As we approach the New Year, UMW is ranked #5 (#13 Massey) with CNU at #28 (Same with Massey). UCSC is a respectable #84 in Massey while Salisbury is #142. Warren Wilson, JWU and Regent are awful as expected. Big games for UMW coming up on 12/30 VA Wesleyan (#38) and Catholic (#29) on 1/3.

Great UMW (#5) v. Catholic (#15) game at Catholic yesterday. UMW won by 6 but game was close throughout with 20 ties and 13 lead changes. Both teams shot equally; UMW (48%/29%/84%) and CU (45%/32%/82%) and UMW outrebounded CU 32-26. Over 400 fans in a nice arena. DIIIMBB at its finest in my view.

Nice win for CNU over Hopkins. I had great courtside seats. I caught a ball in the first half and a Hopkins player in the second half!

UMW now with its highest ranking, #3, in its history. In a great position with NPI ranking of 6 to host first and second round games. CNU has NPI of 10 so likely won't matter who wins the "coveted" C2C title.

Almost. #2, with a first place vote! Congrats to the Eagles. I will get to see them in person tomorrow night at The Freeman! I'm sure I will be stressed!!  UMW has a very tough next 10 days. @ #12CNU. @#6RMC. @SVU and home vs #12CNU.  The SVU could be a trap game. They have won 9 of last 11 and are 6-2 at home.

I suspect that if UMW sweeps the week, they'll get more than one No. 1 vote next week.

Agreed that it's good stuff. I like it better than the UW-River Falls beer, but just barely. They're both great.

I think I have just found a new "hobby". Find and try every beer associated with a D3 school.

I've heard the Virginia Tech beer is horrible, so I will focus on D3 to start.

Now.....the fun begins....finding them! And figuring away to get them delivered!
