I just want to say that RMC has a lot to look forward too...a lot of talent!  They are an impressive team and I hope that Amherst does not have to play them again in the next couple years.  Amherst has used the schedule in their favor and it shows.  The bye game that gave them two weeks to get healthy was huge for them.  Today first half I don't even know how you explain it...they were just about flawless from the field (except for ft).  They have seven guys that scored over 20 points in a game this year and depending on match ups, anyone can go off on you.  Green the freshman was a key in the first half that opened up the game.  You play the game and anything can happen when you get to this point in the season.  I think RMC will use this game to its advantage with the group they have coming back the next few years.  As a long time Amherst fan this might be the most impressive run at this point in the tournament for The Lord Jeff's.

VWC down 40-39 at halftime... maybe i'm biased but these referees are very bad.. VWC needs to be up 6-8 points down the stretch to win this one.. they make ODAC refs look like gods.. Yes u can say the calls are close to even but they have made some very bad calls on loose balls in the favor of Williams

Congrats to RMC and VWC, both had fine seasons and represented the ODAC well.

On another note, Guilford's twitter page is reporting that Ben Strong has been called up to the Chicago Bulls!

Hampden-Sydney loses the All-American on their team, Harrison George, as well as Corrigan, Lumpkin, Potapov, and Ward.  Nevertheless, four starters and 7 of the top 10 players from this year's Top 25 team will be back.  They'll be looking to recruit some quality inside play and add some depth to what they'll already be getting from Khobi Williamson, Cam Anderson, and Mitch Owens.  Will Sam Dale return?

Randolph-Macon loses Giggetts and Cole to graduation, but has a lot of the same Sweet Sixteen team back, including Andre Simon, Connor Sullivan, and Marcus Badger.

Virginia Wesleyan will lose 3 starters ... Teasley, Astorga, and Ford ... but Woodmore returns, and they always have players ready to step up into starting roles.  Still, some big losses for the Marlins!

Randolph loses 36 of their 70 ppg in the loss of All-American Josten's Trophy winner, Coltan Hunt, and teammate Chris Battaglia.  What they'll look like next year is anyone's guess.  The Wildcats will still have that gym in their favor, though.

Guilford will undoubtedly miss Josh Pittman, and they lose 4 of their top 7 scorers, so it could be a rebuilding year.  They bring back Richardson and McCarthy, so will clearly have some quality coming back.

Lynchburg loses Chillemi and Connor to graduation, but Manny Hernandez will return.  What about Xavier Parham?

W&L loses Ey but brings back much the same team, so could improve to the top half of the ODAC.  EMU loses Thorne and Longacre, but is always solid.

Bridgewater's program is a mess ... and I doubt there will be huge turnarounds by Roanoke E&H, or Shenandoah.

VWC brings back Woodmore, Sedric Nady, a capable scorer off the bench this year, Colby Heard and Trent Batson, two of their main post players. I'm sure Macedo is working on a recruiting class that will fill the holes left by this senior class, which had ALOT of success in their four years.

My congratulations as well to RMC and VWC!  Nice seasons, gentlemen!

I also saw this on Rhett Bonner's '10 Twitter.  He and Ben were teammates, so I'm sure they talk.

Also, Gabriel Lowder '12 has been traveling the world for the last year with the Harlem Globetrotters as a member of the Washington Generals.

ODAC teams need to learn from how RMC schedules OOC games. I've said all along they would be a tough out down late in the season as a result of their OOC schedule.

Congrats to both VWC and RMC on great seasons. Tigers bowed out early but at least Cabrini is still in the dance. Eases the pain a little, maybe !!!

I'll assume RMC, VWC & HSC will be top three in ODAC next year, or am I wrong and missing something ?

No mention of Ben Strong being called up in any of the Bulls recent transactions. He's also not listed on their roster. They have signed several players to 10 day contracts in the past few weeks and the last one was on March 19th but it was forward Malcolm Thomas from San Diego State and not Ben Strong.  I wish it was true but it doesn't appear to be the case.

Pretty sure I mentioned Malcolm Thomas in my post as the last player the Bulls signed up. ??? ;D

2 of the 3 giant killers of the ODAC fell tonight - #1 St. Thomas knocked off Williams 82-79 with a big 2nd half comeback.  Williams took VWC out previously.  Amherst who beat RMC looked the strongest tonight by beating Cabrini by 101-82. Cabrini beat H-SC 80-78  The top three teams in DIII nationally made it to the semi-finals. Should be some good games tomorrow. I believe that it will be St. Thomas and Amherst in the Finals in Atlanta with Amherst on top in several weeks.  I remember traveling north to see St. Thomas beat H-SC in about 1994 or so.

HSCDad

Strange endings today - Amherst did as expected and won. St. Thomas was up 50-36 early part of 2nd half but Mary Hardin-Baylor went 34-13 and won.  Complete surprise so Amherst and Mary Hardin-Baylor for National DIII championship.
