Quote from: hazzben on Today at 10:21:45 AMIt sounds like there's every chance they might submit a bracket and then it gets sent back for including too many flights.

Congrats to the Royals securing at least a share of the MIAC crown (but pretty confident they won't lose to St. Scholastica next week) and the MIAC automatic bid. Hoping no more injuries and a 1st round bye.

Assuming a win at CSS, Bethel will not only get a first round bye, but a top 8 seed - seems likely in the 5-7 range, depending on certain outcomes.

Would 16 teams receive a first round bye in a 40 team bracket? With St John's currently at 20th in the NPI, would they, then, be playing an opening round game?

16 teams play the first round, so the top 24 generally should get a bye, however this is not set in stone, and due to varying factors (who put in to host, travel between specific opponents, no previous matchups in first round), teams above the 24 cut-off line *could* play first round.

Much appreciated! I'm hoping that St John's gets a bye. We're having Thanksgiving with my mother, siblings, & their wives/kids on Saturday the 22nd. I told her if St John's was playing that I'd be watching either on my phone or laptop. She wasn't thrilled.

It's gonna be wild. Frank and ITH currently project 9 of the  at large bids will go to "Midwest" teams. Tons will still change in the course of a week. But that's gonna make for some very interesting bracketing.

Using today's NPI figures, of the 40 teams in the tourney, 12 are from MN, WI, IA, or Chicago land - with four in the top eight. It's going to be a butt ugly bracket for the juggernaut that the Upper Midwest has become in terms of D3 talent.

MIAC notes for the final week of the 2025 season...

If Carleton's QB had a season ending injury in the BU game yesterday, then the Cobbers stand a good chance of becoming the third best team this year by winning down in Northfield this coming week. The remaining games should go chalk, even with the twist added recently of Hamline visiting Augsburg on Friday night.
